Building Chains Expansion - Patch 20

Description
Disclaimer: This is not my mod, it was originally created by Heinrich von Preußen, I made it compatible with the latest patch and got permission to upload it

NEW BUILDINGS
So here's the full list of all the buildings currently added by this mod:
  • For the first time, an entirely new Limes chain that will provide security against bandits, a decent garrison with professional soldiers and a trade bonus, in exchange of high building and food cost and some squalor.
Legionary Camp --> Castrum --> Limes - This chain is available for Roman factions in the Empire Divided Campaign only.

  • A new Coastal Artillery building upgrading from port level 1 that brings a small ship garrison and two Ballistae units to protect shores against enemy fleets. Same as Limes, Empire Divided Romans only.

  • Brand new Public housing chain (independant from the already existing ones) for all roman factions, only in major settlements (provincial capitals) :
Suburbs --> Insulae --> Equites Houses --> Domus - This chain will provide multiple bonuses and some maluses, reflecting what was the role of the social class residing in the buildings. For example every building of this chain will bring growth, but the higher the level of the building, the lower the growth. Indeed pelbeians had most of the time more children than the patricians!

  • New public buildings for all roman factions in all campaigns (from the level I forum) :
Statue --> Column --> Triumphal Arch --> Trajan's Column (faction unique tier V building) - This chain will give you public order and political power in exchange of an upkeep.
Ludus --> Schola - A kind of variant of the "research" chain of the city-centre. Will add a bit more research points, public order as well in exchange of an upkeep cost.
Odeon --> Theatre - An other public order chain that will also provide cultural influence.
Comitium --> Oration Platform --> Curia - A political chain that will give latin influence, lower political actions costs and increase taxes, as well as a small public order boost in exchange of food.
Excubitoria --> Prefecture --> Courthouse - A proper "vigiles chain" that will provide a light garrison and a high bonus of public order (+16 at level IV) in exchange of food and an upkeep.
Open-Air Market --> Macellum --> Great Forum - This chain tries to represent the impact of a real forum, giving high income and public order and also a wealth bonus for commerce buildings in exchange of a high food cost (up to -14 at level IV).

  • New building superchain for roman and eastern factions only : Roads
Four levels of roads with a tier V at the top : Royal Road for easterners, Via Appia (faction unique) for romans. This chain will enhance your armies movement points, give public order, cultural conversion and bonuses from trade but will have a huge upkeep cost.

  • Return of the pre-emperor Quarry for ALL ingame factions, all campaigns. Will add more diversity to minor settlements industry chain.

  • Same with Brickmaker for romans only.

  • Many more religious chains for the Greeks in order to represent their pantheon better.

  • Finally, return of the old Blacksmith/ Shield Maker for all Greek, Eastern and Roman factions. Unlike the popular "Old-style blacksmith" mod these buildings are new ones using the same effects and icons as the old ones so you won't see two workshops. I suggest you to subscribe to a mod that removes the faction-wide unit equipment effect that had been added with patch 17 otherwise this chain will be useless.
I personally use this one : No Patch 17 building effects . In my opinion the effects brought by this patch are just ridiculous, with them you have 2000 food surplus and +30 happiness everywhere once you've taken the strategic ressource towns...

WARNING
You will be able to build statues, columns and archs in your cities however they will appear only as building icons. What i mean is that they won't show on the campaign map nor on battle maps as rigid models like an aqueduct, as currently i do not know how to make 3D models, and haven't found anyone doing it. As well forgive my poor pixel art for the icons, if anyone has better ones just contact me ;)

COMPATIBILITY
This mod will be compatible with ALL mods that do not touch the buildings. It should be working with most building mods and is fully compatible with mine but i can't promise it will work with all of them. It is surely not compatible with overhauls like Radious or Dei.

CREDITS
I would like to thank Gaius Julius Caesar very much, who gave me the ludus/statue chains ideas; he also helped me with public houses. These buildings were part of his team's project, Pax Romana.
I have used the road icons of the "Melius Imperi" outdated mod. If the modder sees any problem with that, pls just tell me i'll make new ones.
I would also like to thank Alexandros(GR) who gave me the ideas for the theatre/curia/great forum/courthouse chains.

PS : Support Heinrich von Preußen[paypal.me]

Anyway i hope you'll find this interesting, pls thumb the mod up if you like it (this is the only way to make it visible to the best number of users), and feel free to comment/ make constructive critics/ report any bugs in the commentaries section :)

@swibtn this mod isn't mine, read the disclaimer on why it is in my workshop

--- Except for the sort of " conflicts " where my Corinthian helmet - equipped Hoplites go out to expand the empire so the King can build yet another temple to yet another god. :)

Lol , thanks for the information !

It looks like I'll be adding two more temples to the Greek pantheon. :)

I never noticed it was the SAME modder.

I like the vanilla campaign as is --- except for the paucity of temple types , and I would rather see my Greek Hoplites in Corinthian helmets.

So a Corinthian helmet mod , and these two building mods by the same modder. So conflicts are rather unlikely .

They shouldn't conflict

@ Gyrosmeister

Yes , I saw that mod.

However , precisely because it is a building mod , I was afraid it might conflict with this mod ?

That mod gives you two temples , whereas this mod gives you a dozen different temples , plus a lot of other things . Like , for example , the choice of building a pit mine OR a stone quarry.

@swibtn https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1121796563 check this if you want Artemis/Apollon

I wish a temple of Apollo and a temple of Artemis had been squeezed in.

BUT , that's NOT a complaint.

Maybe more temple types couldn't have been squeezed in ?

And I noticed that you can upgrade a temple to Great Temple of Ephesus , which covers Artemis .

In any case , this mod doubles , or even triples ( ? ) the temple choices / variety for Greeks ! :)

I mentioned the Great Temple of Artemis at Ephesus ; You can also build the Altar at Pergamum , the Acropolis in Athens , and several others I can't remember.

Lots of Greek pagan architectural goodness here ! :D

And it has been updated / it works.

A ++ mod !

I always use this mod but tbh it would be great if the Roman buildings were more beneficial. For example, both the Equites Houses and the Domus are utterly useless in reality, even if on paper they seem to add diverse benefits and fill gaps, imho. I also never build the roads: utterly useless due to lack of sufficient benefit (increases trade yet loses money due to maintenance...). None of the other public buildings ever get used, as they don't provide enough benefit compared to vanilla buildings to utilize when considering the limited number of building slots per settlement. Same issue with coastal artillery building. If you could make two separate ports it would be great to devote one purely to naval defense, but you can't.

Preciate the effort though.
