Introduction
I've seen a lot of (unexperienced) players, who would spam Dragon Piercers mid fight although it does less damage than standard combos would output damage. (That even is true for stunned monsters). That's why I decided to do a little guide.
Requirements
In order to dash dance and constantly executing ALL (guide contains alternative Combos without MBJ too) the given combos, you'll need:
  • Set Bonus Constitution +3 in combination with Dash Juice (recommended)
  • Set Bonus Constitution +5 without Dash Juice
  • Mighty Bow Jewel (much more variety in combos, see "Combos")
Bow-Combos
Dash-Dance:
  1. Dash shot (Level 3 charge) and
  2. Spread shot (Level 3 charge) and
  3. Dash shot (Level 3 charge) and
  4. Spread shot (Level 3 charge)
OR/in combination with

Spread-Combo
Without Mighty Bow Jewel you will only use this combo while running out of stamina, because the first spread shot does not consume stamina and triggers your regeneration of stamina, which is absolutely needed.
  1. Spread shot (Level 1 charge) and
  2. Normal shot (Level 2 charge) and
  3. Spread shot (Level 3 charge) and
  4. Normal shot (Level 4 charge) and
  5. Spread shot (Level 4 charge) Warning: the last normal+spread is a level 4 charged shot if you have a Mighty Bow Jewel, otherwise just use the combo without the last 2 combo-elements (s n s).

does much more damage than any Dragon Piercer Build. Even without Mighty Bow Jewel, the remaining combo has a bigger damage output. In advance, you're much more mobile while dashing than while charging a Dragon Piercer.

Stun-Combo
Don't ever forget to pull out some stones to stun the monster with the following combo:

  1. Dash Shot and
  2. Spread Shot and
  3. Spread Shot and
  4. Spread Shot and
  5. ... (continue as long as the monster is stunned (for stunning it again) or when you run out of stamina)
Combination
For a faster stun combo use:

  1. Spread (fast spread)
  2. Spread
  3. ...
For Mighty Bow Users:

Combo to waste time (example: Landing a spread shot on the hand of Xenoji'va right after the monster recovered from knockdown without lowering the DPS).
You just knocked down Xeno. Than you'll do the following combo:
  1. Dash Shot (to get into the spread range of the arm)
  2. Spread Shot (to waste time and output damage)
  3. Spread Shot
  4. Normal Shot (Level 2) Normal Shots for wasting time
  5. Normal Shot (Level 3)
  6. Normal Shot (Level 4)
  7. Spread Shot (Level 4) (should do enough damage and stun (only proven for solo) to knock down Xeno again.)
Current WR with TA-Rules and the mechanics used which are described above:
Why is that?
The fact, that every Dash Shot will be a Level 3 charged shot is the main reason why dash dancing is so good. The spread combo is most likely used when running out of stamina, explained above. With Mighty Bow Jewel it's even better to execute the spread combo, because you'll charge up a Level 4 shot which will do more damage than usual. Furthermore you can fit in 3 Normal Shots to gain some time for the last Level 4 charged Spread, which could possibly stun monsters again.

Bow is a DPS weapon first.
As such, I use the DPS overlay mod as a metric.
I have never seen a DP user break 10 dps in my hundreds of observations, and "good" bow dps starts at 15, caps at 25.

I think DP looks cool, I think it feels good to use it, and one of my sweetest moments was cutting a KD tail and killing it in the same DP, but it's just not efficient compared to just spamming charged shots.

@IchigoMait take a look at what Venusgate said.

If you start a bow main, it takes you less than 30 hours to get to end game. If you're already there, it should take you less than 30 minutes to make a build, so yeah, these are more relevant than LR builds and tactics.

@IchigoMait you never need DP unless you want to cut things on solo.

I see a lot of weak bow gameplay as well, when they could literally triple their damage by just standing there and spamming LC.

I started with bow and Dash Dancing only became fun when I got my constitution up high enough. My gameplay totally shifted. And then I get MBG, and it totally shifted again. Very peculiar for a weapon meta to jump twice based on HR and gem drops.
