T-60

Designed alongside the T-40 amphibious tank to replace the obsolete T-37 and T-38 amphibious tanks. Intended as a light scout, it was to originally be equipped with a DShK machine gun like the T-40, but was instead equipped with a TNSh autocannon, a ShVAK autocannon modified for ground usage. The T-60 was a successful scout vehicle and was used throughout WW2 by Soviet forces. Due to the low penetration of the TNSh autocannon making the T-60 inefficient against german tanks, it was proposed to rearm the vehicle with a ZiS-19 cannon, only for this project to be cancelled due to the lack of 37mm ammunition. A 45mm gun was chosen instead and work began on a new tank, resulting in the failed T-45 and the T-60s successor, the T-70.
