Description
Luxury resources in this game are terribly unbalanced as well as boring as hell. Somehow, while we have lots of mods changing many other aspects of the game, there are very few efforts to fix this key issue.

So here is mine.

Points which was taken into account:
  • how easy it is in tech/worker turns to improve resource
  • basic terrain yield on which it is usually found and building bonus if any
  • strength of corresponding pantheons
  • flavor
  • is it possible to make total resulting yield unique

New Yields:
(F=food, P=Production, G=gold):

Other changes:
  • Mines got +P at Dynamite tech in addition(!) to +P at Chemistry
  • Plantations got +G at instead of +F at Fertilizer
  • Camps got +F at rifling instead of +G at Economics
  • Banana Plantations no longer removes production

Reasoning:
Yield change should make some resources better at the beginning of the game, some will get the edge if you chose right pantheon, some will kick in at later stages.

P < F So mines are buffed at late game to make them comparable to farms.

Questions and Suggestions are welcome.

Other mods comparability:
Enlightenment Era is supported (their change to Plantation yields will be overwritten)
Generally it should work with all other mods which does not change the same objects.

Works with all mods I'm using

Each change is in the separate file, so if you don't like any of them just navigate to your MODS folder and delete (or rename) the corresponding file. It should revert the changes.

After a long hiatus I've published one more small mod:

New version uploaded. Banana plantations returned - they are now no longer removing production.

Well in testing out your mods (and your recommended mods) I realized that by not being able to do anything with bananas actually meant that late in the game, I had tiles I could deploy Great People to! Have to say, so far, your mods are making the later game better.

@zArkham, as I understand, on additional luxuries mods this one will just have no effect, but with "Banana's are Luxuries" there may be some troubles. I may think about support for them in later versions but it'll be quite hard as this mod as quite strictly balanced around basic game resource quantities and placing algorithms.

Is this mod compatible with the Amer-Asian Resource mod?. Also, how would this mod interact with a mod like "Banana's are Luxuries" ?

I've published kind of essential, imo, mod, which fixes the difficulty problems:

Or, actually, I can just remove -1P from banana plantation. It was bothering me that then there will be improvement, which gives more than +1 yeild, but maybe having unimprovable resource is worse. Also it will help in usually production low jungle starts.

Will implement it in the next update.

@Haftetavenscrap - jungle is removed because of plantation. Theoretically it's possible to make separate improvement "banana plantation" which will not remove jungles, and then steal graphics from something to represent it. But practically it all looks very unfruitful.

But having thought about it - maybe it's better just to give +science for bananas to universities.:/

Would it be possible to change Bananas so that jungle isn't removed when improving them?
