@Syphond Pretty sure it does on the old planets. I think there is a new planet which could be missing the deep ores. Have to check that, gimme some time.

does this still work?

Yeah, Mars looks to be a good alternative option to my idea's scenario, but that only goes for the landscape. Weather feels easymode-ish, and there don't seem to be any spiders at all.
Another possible start is the Alien planet with that spider swarm mod for Alien, but that mod seems to affect ore spawns there somehow, as my friend told me he was seeing ores 10m under there as well.
Having Workshop planets work with this mod would change things a lot, I think. I'm sure anyone using this and wanting more/different planets would appreciate that.

😁 Yeah I know that... We played on our own dedi, too. Lot's of mods, the enemy drone spawning mods improved a lot in the past 2 years. We were using BOB for automating building and repairing stuff. Making ores less common made us travel more which triggered more drone spawns. At the moment we are in other games but at some time we are coming back. Maybe we use another planet, because earthlike is boring.

God dammit, I just realized I went off track at one point in the wall of text. Oh well, you get the point :tgrin:

*uninhabitable, not inhabitable

Yeah, I figured that much once I read more about the mod, should've just deleted the comment. I'm now trying to make a planet I desire in Blender. I can tell more about it later.

The thing is, my friend and I were bored as shit with our save having broken several times because of the Nanite Factory mod, to the point that he even decided to buy a dedicated server in attempt to solve our issues. Pushed our amazing Kharak experience into bad memories with Clang and desynchronization. We decided to start a new, much more hardcore run, where we would start off with a crashed variant of my dropship that once managed to survive a 2km fall with mostly cockpit, wings, and tail critically damaged.

We found the Vel planet mod, and it looked AMAZING to us because on the paper it offers a harsh experience that we would enjoy, forcing us to stay on our toes and use land vehicles to traverse an inhabitable environment filled with threats through constant sandstorms. It was great until we realized that despite having this mod, which was, by plan, supposed to make us set up long-lasting mineshafts at Great depths & routes for autonomous resource deposits back to base. Mix that with the "AhhScrap!" mod among the others we have and realistic sounds, things looked grand, it was going to be an immersive experience. Well, weathers bypass realistic sound seting, which sucks, but we could live with that. Until we saw ores 10m under surface spawning every second step we made away from our "crash site" start, so we pretty much immediately got pushed away from playing there.

Sadly no. There is a bit of work involved in exchanging/modifying the files for ore distribution and ore definition. What planet do you want to use? I've never used modded planets but maybe it's time to do so 😆

Will this work on a Workshop planet, though?
