Overhaul: Flagellant

Description
Flagellant Overhaul
His whole skillset now fits into 4 ability-Slots! He swaps out Punish and Reclaim at low health into Exsanguinate and Redeem, as well as vice versa.
This version of the Flagellant shines with versatility - he can be a strong healer, stress-healer, damage dealer or hybrid, depening on how you gear him. To that end, most of his Trinkets got significant changes.
I accentuated his high risk, high reward playstyle - it will require you to balance his health as well as his stress a lot more carefully to get the most out of the Flagellant. However, you are rewarded with stronger stress-healing capabilities, more potential damage output, as well as more reliable heals.

This is part of a bigger mod: Project: Overhaul. it is still a work in progress and aims to overhaul all base Heroes as well as all Trinkets! It is steadily updated and new Hero reworks get released every few weeks!

Project: Overhaul

This is still a work in progress. Any feedback is highly appreciated! If you think you have a great idea for any class, feel free to post it, I might just implement it!

Compatiblity
Incompatible with mods that change the vanilla classes and vanilla trinkets, but compatible with anything else!

Goals of this Overhaul
The Flagellant is a very interesting concept, but his kit suffers from multiple issues:
In Vanilla, the Flagellant is one of the most powerful classes. Best upfront heals in the game, an incredibly good HoT, strong damage output, borderline immortal and stress is much less of an issue on him.
Furthermore, he needed to swap his abilities mid-dungeon a lot more than most other heroes - while swapping skills on the fly can add a layer of strategy, it devolved into simple tedium with the Flagellant.
Furthermore, he did not have much Risk in his kit at all - when falling below the generous 40% health threshold, you heal yourself up to nearly full with Redeem and Exsanguinate.
This overhaul intends to fix these problems.
His abilities have a lot more risk/reward - and now there is an actual reason to get to high levels of stress and, with proper support, strategies revolving around using Exsanguinate for massive damage are very viable!
Reworking his kit to fit into 4 abilities makes him a very versatile character, yet his trinkets focus his strengths with sensible tradeoffs. Without proper Trinkets, he is a jack of all trades. With a good setup, he is an absolute master of one. Wether you want a frontline healer, a powerful support/stress healer or just need some more damage at the front, this rework got you covered!

Now, onto the actual change list!

Oddities

Notes
Some unintuitive things about the Flagellant:
Bleed Chance also causes your Reclaim to bleed yourself more often! Be careful about that.
Healing Done buffs do not affect Reclaim or the new Redeem's delayed heal. That also means that debuffs to Healing Done don't affect it! Those oddities were already in the vanilla game, but I felt it important to at least tell you guys about that.

Glitches
If the Flagellant somehow is at less than 35% at the end of combat, his animations will glitch a bit. It usually shouldn't happen due to the built-in heal when below 35% - but if it happens, rest assured. The glitch is not harmful and does not impact gameplay in any way.

still love this mod and it works to this day. The only problem I've found is that this mod raises the volume on all of flag's abilities to a hilarious extent.

Wonderful ideas here, and great to see a mod maker actually write up a changelog. I see it's been a year since you were active but even just 2 classes changed are much appreciated. As someone who uses Flage a lot, the changes look very interesting and I'm excited to try them out. I never used Abom much, so I don't have as good a feel on the changes there, but I'm excited to try them out anyway.

One thing I'm concerned about is the -8 dodge on Martyr's Seal, this seems like it's a good nerf for Flage but I don't think it works for other users. Low level power leveling is hurt because it likes the deathblow stats and really doesn't want to get hit, and standard builds are hurt because they like the bonus HP but at least they could still use the Life Crystal and just suffer the -Speed.

Can you make a mod there the flagellant can hit position 3 with punish?
Kope 14 Jun, 2019 @ 4:21pm
This looks interesting. Hadn't even thought of the idea about a change in skill at X% health.
Snazzy Dragon 10 Apr, 2019 @ 2:38am
This is one of the best flagellant reworks out there, full stop.
Andor 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:15am
Flagellant isn't overpowered before COM patch. He received a lot of nerfs that made him much weaker than before

You are probably right. My bad for not posting the changelist right away ^^"

But thanks for the encouragement ^.^ I hope you'll have fun with this class. As this is basically a "beta", much may change - so please, tell me your opinions and thoughts.
VeeDemo 23 Sep, 2018 @ 7:39am
Cheers, without this most wont even think of downloading a mod. Just from a quick skim of these changes... holy shit I like this idea of a class that changes their role from HP loss. I'll play with this on my next playthrough.

Added changelog to the description now.

In the folder of the mod.
Just go to steam->steamapps->workshop->content->262060->1518617096
That where all your subscribed workshop mods are stored - 262060 is the ID of Darkest Dungeon, 15186.... is the ID of this mod.

I probably should just write up a changelist here real quick. But in the mod folder, you will find it named "Flagellant Rework Changelog".
