Description
PIXELGRAPHER'S FILMIC LIGHTING MOD

A graphics mod that Improves colour grading by mimicking a Filmic tonemapping transform, which is closer to how film would react to light in real life. This helps to avoid blown-out highlight areas by increasing the target white point. The overall image is much softer and lower in contrast than the default colour transform.

This is the ETS 2 version. Click here for the ATS version.
This is the Dark Nights version. Click here for the standard version.
If you like bloom, click here.

In addition, this mod
  • Removes the bloom effect
  • Improves vegetation movement in wind
  • Slightly tweaks climate values
  • Darkens nights

REQUIRES HDR ENABLED!
If you feel that the overall contrast is too low, I recommend coupling this mod with a SweetFX or Reshade preset.

Compatible with version 1.35.
Mod must have high priority. Not compatible with Realistic Graphics Mod or any other mod that modifies weather and climate. This does not, however, include mods that change sunset and sunrise timings such as Actual Day-/Nighttime Mod. Pure texture mods should also be unaffected.

Feedback is appreciated.

Anyone who downloads this mod is welcome to make derivative works from it.

@Pixelgrapher would you consider handing over your mod to some other interested modder who can update and maintain your mod? I'd be really grateful if it were possible as your mod is one of the best in graphics mods.

At this stage, I'm afraid not. I've moved onto other things since I lack the motivation to play ETS.

Not needily asking for the mod to be remade from scratch, just going to ask are there plans to, make this work for the 1.36?

Or you can use Notepad++ with a comparison plugin which displays both sii files next to each other and also telling you what the differences are. I used to edit my mods that way 3-4 years ago when I was still using Windows and it saves a lot of time in visually scanning files line by line. Once you locate the differences, all you have to do is copy your modded data over the new sii file. I can't explain it any better but I hope you understand me. ;)

SCS have changed the climate system a bit. I'll have to recreate the mod from scratch to get it to work.

After deleting game cache it doesn't CTD the game anymore. However, the mod doesn't seem to be working cuz the stupid glow effect is back.

1.36 is out and this mod crashes the game. I hope you can fix it.

The vast number of climate types in ProMods is why I had to stop developing for it. It simply takes too much time to get it right for each one.

Can you make it compatible with Pro Mods 2.42 map? I've set it as the highest priority but the Pro Mods map has more climate types and your mod doesn't work in the most areas. Your mod has only 3 climate types, whereas Pro Mods 2.42 has 10 climate types: alpine, arctic, baltic, coastal, continental, desert, icelandic, mediteranian, subarctic, and subtropical.
