Enhanced User Interface

Description
This mod has been updated to work with game version 5.0, the latest DLC “The Forgotten Sanctum”, and the new "Turn Based" game mode.

The Enhanced User Interface mod aims to improve the standard user interface by highlighting gameplay mechanics such as afflictions and inspirations, damage and defense keywords and much more. More than 1000 ability, item or UI entries have been modified to enhance the user experience and to make some fairly opaque game mechanics a bit more transparent.

Language Support:
This mod is available in English and German (thanks to the talented modder aurelio). To download the German version please click here.

Please note! This page is only for the English version of the mod, if you want to use the German version of the mod, or if run into issues when using the German localization, please visit the German mod page and report any issues you might encounter there.

Option 1:
Installing the mod through Steam Workshop
  • Look for (or create) an override folder in your "PillarsOfEternityII_Data" directory. The folder structure should look like this:
Pillars of Eternity II └─ PillarsOfEternityII_Data └─ override
  • Hit the "Subscribe" button.

  • All done, you can now safely launch the game.
I can't find the mod files in my "override" folder! Where are they?
When subscribing to a mod through the Steam Workshop the mod files wont be located in the "override" folder (although you still have to create the "override" folder in the specified location in order for mods to work, don't ask me why).

You'll find the mod files in the same location you choose to install your Steam client. The folder path should look something like this:
C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent560130

Option 2:
Manually installing the mod using Nexus Mods:
  • Download the mod[www.nexusmods.com].
  • Go to your "Pillars of Eternity II/PillarsOfEternityII_Data/" directory.
  • Look for (or create) an "override" folder in your "PillarsOfEternityII_Data" directory.
The correct file path should look like this:
    Pillars of Eternity II/PillarsOfEternityII_Data/override
  • Extract the "PoE2-EnhancedUserInterface" folder (mod folder name may vary depending on what mod package you picked) into your "override" folder.
Once extracted the folder structure should look like this:
    Pillars of Eternity II └─ PillarsOfEternityII_Data └─ override └─ PoE2-EnhancedUserInterface ├─ localized │ └─ en │ └─ text │ └─ game │ ├─ abilities.stringtable │ ├─ cyclopedia.stringtable │ ├─ gui.stringtable │ ├─ items.stringtable │ └─ statuseffects.stringtable ├─ EnhancedUI-DamageTypes.gamedatabundle ├─ EnhancedUI-TheWheel.gamedatabundle ├─ manifest.json ├─ steam-thumb.jpg └─ thumb.png
  • Make sure that you don't need to download any additional files (only relevant if you're playing in German).
  • All done, you can now safely launch the game.

OOOF I am looking at this and I am like YESSS this what the game needs, cause the interface is definitely one of the games weak points imo!...looks so much cleaner...just too worried what wrath I might ensue if I download it. Will gather courage!!! xD.

@selendile030 That depends. This mod is basically a mod that replaces the original text. So if a mod that adds subclasses, for example, changes class descriptions, this mod would also replace that text if it is the last one loaded. You would then have the nice icons, but the description would not fit. If you load the mod first, then the text of the subclass mod would be correct, but without the icons. I would recommend loading it first.

Where should this appear in the load order? Will it play well with other mods that add subclasses?

Howdies. I installed this yesterday after bought Pillars of Eternity II via Humble Bundle with all downloadable content. Question: It's written that don't ask why override folder is needed so i won't ask that, but asking that is it supposed to show as empty ? I think this Enhanced UI is installed as it should when looking at those sample gifs & what i noticed in the game on last night. :idglass:
