All Nations Map - Middle Age 1.0

Description
The sequel to my previous all nation early ages map.

Ideally suited for 12 thrones. Ensure to allow special starting sites in game setup.

300 province E-W wraparound map designed with starting locations for all middle age nations. I have attempted to make it as balanced as possible, however this map is designed to try and be lore appropriate based on the in game descriptions. It is however a little crowded.

The far north is cold and the far south is hot. Despite all the water, island nations are traversable as if it were land to help with balance I used a grid based system to design this map, so each province is adjacent to 8 others, so in certain areas it is easy to 'outflank' opponents. To counter this I have placed mountains and rivers to create chokepoints based around tactically important provinces.

What has happened since the early age? I used this as a guide https://imgur.com/k0WCJtJ
- Roads and farms are becoming more commonplace in the middle ages.
- Arcocephale, Ulm, T'ien Ch'i, Machaka, Mictlan, Abysia, Caelum, C'Tis, Pangaea, Agartha, Vanheim, Xibalba, Atlantis R'lyeh and Pelagia all remain in the same location.
- The following nations have changed names: Niefelheim → Jotunheim, Rus → Vanarus, Kailasa → Bandar Log, Yomi → Shinuyama, Hinnom → Ashdod, Ur → Uruk, Mekone → Phlegra but remain in the same location.
- Marverni, Sauromatia, Tir na n'Og, Fomoria, Helheim, Lanka and Therodos are extinct.
- Ermor is now a wasteland.
- Sceleria has established an eastern part of the empire.
- Pythia has splintered off, taking over the swamps that used to be Sauromatia.
- Berytos (now Phaeacia) has sailed away to more exotic shores, taking over the island chain vacated by Lanka and leaving space for Marignon.
- Marignon has taken over the large island south of Ermor.
- Eriu inhabits the island that used to be Tir na n'Og
- Man now has cleared the forests that used to be Marverni
- Ys inhabits the sunken coastline that used to belong to Formoria
- Asphodel has set up in forests south of Pangaea
- Nazca has set up in the arid mountains north of Mictlan

This is my second map I've uploaded and is a little ambitious, please let me know if you have any suggestions for better balance or make it more lore friendly. Be patient however, as I may need to translate changes between both early and middle age maps.

In the future I may make a winterised version, and am planning a version for the late ages.

Map made using https://inkarnate.com.

Only 12 thrones for 35 players?

It's a very cool map but seems really hard to play for T'ien Ch'i? Almost all of the cap ring provinces are underwater and the nation doesn't really have a good answer to that. You can take an awake pretender like the Carp and just wing it but it feels like a huge setback.

Fantastic map, Early and Late versions. Would love to see the Late version, and maybe updates to the first two periods to accommodate the newly added nations illwinter has given us, but even as it stands right now your maps are among the best I've seen for Dom5. Excellent stuff. Appreciate all your hard work.

Love both of your All Nations maps - super fun and really nice thematic feel to how the nations are placed.

hey i think i might have found a bug, twice now in a game(one played as Sceleria and the other as Arcosephale) after about 25 turns all of arcosephale's provinces became neutral and they/I instantly lost the game

This map is gorgeous! I finally picked Dom 5 back up after ignoring it for years and am just super impressed by this beautiful thing. It's the sort of rich, beautiful map I'd imagined back in Dom3 and Dom4. Congrats to you for such a great contribution, even if it never gets further upgrades with a winter version or anything.

Take care of yourself and thank you for being honest with us. Your work is amazing and in these fraught times it's completely understandable to take care of yourself.
I hope conditions become as such that you can return to Dom5 modding - until then good luck.

Sure. I feel I've bitten off more than I can chew with the scope of the project and have no real capacity to spend much time updating things. I'm happy to let others improve on it or use the framework.
