2020 News

No longer working on mod, working on a game instead (named Ascendance, it's on Steam).

Currently updating for vanilla 2.2!

The mod is being actively worked on - updates and questions are best covered on the mod's discord channel in the Stellaris Modding Den (worth joining as many other mods are hosted there):

The mod has been completely rewritten and for now continues to focus on the economy and empire finances aspect (politics, diplomacy and combat will be covered in a standalone game). Colonisation and population work similarly to previous version, while government finances have undergone significant changes, and the economy functions completely differently (based on production and consumption at the system level). Cool factor changes include the freighting of resources and goods, new graphics and new GUIs.

Summary
This mod replaces many of the base game's mechanics with new systems that provide the feeling of running an empire. Overall, management is streamlined and centralised, with the focus being on managing an empire as a whole. It predominantly affects the economic side of the game, but will increasingly add political and social elements.

Major features:
- New colonisation, population, migration, industry, finance, infrastructure, and science systems.
- Colonisation and industry operate autonomously.
- Demand-driven economy with 14 industries and a resource overhaul (will rework in 2.2).
- Empire budget to manage, potential debt, many new policies for management.
- Management moved from predominantly planet level to empire level.
- New method of ordering ships from the new GUI.
- Standard of living, approval and order replace happiness.
- Increasing number of political, social and economic events provide flavour (early days).
- Various UI tweaks, including new GUI management screens.
- Pops and buildings will return to core worlds when vanilla 2.2 is released.

Warning:
- The mod needs to be played in English for now; stats won't currently appear in other languages.
- The mod makes huge changes and works very differently to vanilla; if you just jump into the game, you'll probably have no idea what is going on. Watch the youtube videos, or read the help topics (pops up when you start a game).

I really recommend the video to get a feel for the mod and its recent changes. There are also tooltips, a quick tutorial and a help menu provided in-game.

rolled back stellaris and works beautifully games much more immersive when you dont see the pops and you can use youre imagination for them. maybe its the autism but i always preferred DW2 population over stellaris gameboard pops

But a W because it's now its own game in development! It's far better as a stand-alone game than a mod, able to do far more with it. The scale, level of detail, mechanics, and graphics just aren't something that could be achieved with a mod.
