Destiny Dregs [1.0]

Description
A Destiny-themed Munchkin game for Tabletop Simulator!

What is Destiny Dregs?
Destiny Dregs is a heavily modified game of Munchkin, made to fit into the Destiny universe. The game shares a lot of rulings and design philosophies of the game that inspired it, but all 240+ cards are custom made, effects and all, using the grimoire cards of Destiny as their background image. If you have ever wanted to play Munchkin on tabletop simulator or just simply want to play a Destiny card game, here you go! The game may still receive some updates, but is largely considered finished. Please try it if you feel it sounds fun! And please leave comments for feedback, questions, general thoughts or anything else that comes to mind. I will try to respond to all comments. Eyes up guardian!

How do I play Destiny Dregs?
Just hit subscribe and load it up in Tabletop Simulator. You will get everything you need to play; 4 decks of cards (1 Patrol Deck, 1 Strike Deck, 1 Engram Deck and 1 Sublime Engram Deck) as well as counters to keep track of your Levels, Glimmer and Bonuses (or what else you might want to track, personally). For the actual rules to play, refer to your Munchkin manual and the rulings described below.

About the Rules
The key difference between Destiny Dregs and Munchkin is that a lot of the key words on cards have been changed to fit with the Destiny universe. Along with this, some basic rules have changed to accommodate for these changes. However, if you have ever played Munchkin before, you pretty much know the drill. And if you have knowledge of Destiny, its key mechanics and lore, you will probably feel most is self-explanatory by just looking at the cards. I will not provide any guide to the actual rules or mechanics of either game as I want to encourage people to go out and buy the real deal. I will instead just list all terms that have changed and what they have changed to down below as well as the actual rules that are unique to Destiny Dregs.

About the Decks
The game consists of two different Patrol decks (doors), called Patrols and Strikes respectively. The game also has two Engram decks (treasures), called Engrams and Sublime Engrams respectively. Whenever you draw your Patrol card, you may choose to draw from either the Patrol deck or the Strike deck. Just beware; the Minions of Darkness in the Strike deck are much higher level than those in the Patrol deck. It is recommended that you have a base level of 10 or a total level of 20 before trying to draw from the Strike deck. When you are rewarded Engrams, you may only draw from the Engram pile unless it is specifically stated you may draw from the Sublime Engram deck.

About Levels
Max level is 20. You can reach 20 at any point by defeating Minions of Darkness (monsters) or using card effects. However, you do not win the game by reaching max level.

About Winning
To win the game you must defeat Oryx, The Taken King (level 40). Once Oryx has appeared once (he resides in the Strike Deck) he will be set aside and anyone may choose to fight him instead of drawing on their turn. If Oryx has not appeared, and you have reached max level, you may search for him in the Strike Deck instead of drawing on your turn, still putting him to the side if you lose the fight or Run Away.

About Glimmer
Gold is called Glimmer. You need 10,000 Glimmer to gain a level.

About Equipment
Your equip slots consists of a Primary Weapon, Special Weapon, Heavy Weapon and a Relic slot.

About Classes
In this game there are Subclasses and main Classes. Each main Class (Hunter, Titan, Warlock) has three Subclasses attached to them. If you equip a Subclass you are automatically also the main Class which the Subclass is attached to. For example, equipping Nightstalker as your Subclass makes you a Hunter.

About House Rules
It is important to note that all rules are subject to change. Feel free to make up your own house rules while playing to make it a more enjoyable experience for your group!

I do not own anything made by Bungie or Steve Jackson Games, Destiny and Munchkin are properties of their respective owners. Please support the official release of both games!

This seems to be broken with missing cards again? Looking into the code for the image link I have, they are giving 404 not found when I put them in a browser. I saw the note about and updated version but I dont see a link to it?

Does glimmer reset every turn like gold or does it persist?

The missing images issue should be resolved now!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it

From my own expereince I have been able to play this without many hickups using the normal Munchkin rulings (along with the custom rules above). If anything is unclear please give me some examples so I may rewrite the description for clarity. As for confusing card effects, could you give some specifics? Like, which card(s) and what makes them confusing. You can PM me or just keep the conversation going here. Thanks!

Also, There are a couple of cards that have effects but are confusing like you mentioned above. But other than that, keep doing great work.

Hey! Just wanted to say I am a huge fan of this idea. I think this can be a great game even on its own. I tried playing it with regular Munchkin rules, but this game is quite different from the regular Munchkin game that I think it should have its own rule set. If you would like I can help with make an official ruleset for this game.
