SANDTRAP - Halo: 3 Multiplayer Map

Description
"Although the Brute occupiers have been driven from this ancient structure, they left plenty to remember them by." -Map Preview Text

Sandtrap is a multiplayer map feautred in Halo 3, and is set in a desert-filled ancient ruin in an unknown location. Encompased by a large desert, which is blocked off at all ends from large walls and towers seemingly Forerunner in origin, the map has a heavy focus on vehicle combat, bosting a pair of M313 Elephants, on for each side. The ruins themselves are close quarters and allow for good infantry gameplay and CQC action.

The map has been recreated to the best of my abilities (the voxel tool can be a pain to use), but several liberties have been taken. The map lacks any Covenant vehicles for simplicity and balancing features, as well as having no air vehicles. Instead, all are now replaced by land vehicles, specifically Warthogs. There are now dedicated areas on opposite sides of the maps for the two teams to respawn at, and the area outside of the map and the walls that surround it have been shortened and toned down for performance sake, as well as the lack of inclusion of the frigate UNSC Aegis Fate.

In all, the map is multiplayer ready and is intentionally vague for ease of match customization.I am also open to criticism and ideas, and may update the map in the future for fixing and intergration of ideas.

Enjoy! One of the classics and fan-favorites from Halo 3, it was certainly a challenge to work on. Warthog models belong to PrimoSuperT (who you should certainly check out) and the Elephants were masterfully made by SpaceyMarine256, who you should also check out!

If there's a Halo multiplayer map you guys wanna see done, let me know!

even got the walls around the map

My mistake, I thought the map was set on a Halo ring and thus would have the rest of the megastructure looming overhead. That's what I meant.

@MrEvan312 Thanks! I do have a 1:2 Charon I could put down and even tried that, but I wasmt pleased with the result. As for the ring, It's there as a sort of a barrier for the map itself among other things. But I'll keep the suggestions in mind!

Even without all that, though, this is a fanboy's dream come true! This and Boneyard, I salute you bringing amazing maps to the game.

Ony thing that is left would be to add a 1:2 Charon-class Frigate hovering in the back. Could probably jus support it with a thin pillar/glass in the distance and make it completely hollow to keep it performance friendly.

I know, you said you kept Aegis out for that reason, but going with a much smaller ship and making it as light as possible would make it better.

Also, for a ring, honestly the best thing would be to get someone to make a skybox with the ring arching overhead

I considered doing a ring, but I feel like it'd simply be too big and performance impacting.

An actual ring would be awsome too, altho not sure how It would be built! Maybe on a much smaller scale?

Absolutley stunning! Would you consider doing Sword base from reach next?
