Hey because of the bison update BlouBlou created a mod I love -> Resource - Grainers Include Bison; and I think they are clashing, do you think you could fix it?

Should give +1 food until you develop refridg, because of preserving factors.

Sodium chloride with potassium chloride or light salt is used in the melting process allowing the mint to create aluminum, lead, copper, gold, and silve ingots. It's also used n life science and research in a lab for things like blood working and in pill makers. In computers smelting flux for electronics different proccesses often use salfts to remove copper off boards. Used to create bleachs that make plastic white as is done by clorox. So maybe +2 gold per salt with cities with a Mint. +3 production per salt with the discovery of metal working. +4 science and +2 food with the discovery of penicillin, +4 science electronics, and +3 happiness with plastics.

@Freeasabird420:

I think you're misunderstanding that the whole food mechanic in Civ V is an *abstraction* of food, health, and birth rate. It is not literal food.

No, salt does not provide literal food. It is a preservative and seasoning. Salting food allows it to stay fresh longer so that you can store it in - say - a granary so that it is available during times of famine.

The sodium from salt is also a necessary nutrient for the human body, so having access to it contributes to overall health, which helps people to live longer and healthier, which increases overall population and growth rates. This is why the game is justified in having a Hospital building that provides +5 food and an Aqueduct that allows food to carry over when the city grows. These buildings do not provide literal food, but they improve the health of the residents and increase the population, which is represented by the game mechanic of "food".

But stops other food going bad! When less food spoils the amount of food that your kindom has increases. Simple!

except there is not way to represent food storage other than giving it food.
