Report a translation problem
It would be nice if dynamic props or textures were actually a thing. Just imagine how amazing clarifiers and pools would look. I was saying it more in jest than anything. Your barrel is really well made.
Honestly, there's not a heck of a lot we can do to create dynamic objects – like, for instance, a localized spot of rain, animated or otherwise. The game really isn't set up for that sort of thing.
Maybe someday we'll get a utility to import custom animations. And then the gloves are off. But, until then ...
Aside from limited 2D animations on planar objects in props, (which for the time being require Ronyx's animUV params mod) – or objects continuously rotating around a single axis (also usually needing a mod), it's hard to make anything move the way you want it.
