Gunpoint - Richard Conway

Description
This is a fanmod based on the character "Richard Conway" from Tom Francis' legendary game "Gunpoint". Go check it out!

Agent Conway joins the agency, and he brings his favourite gadgets!

- The Bullfrog Hypertrousers™ let him physically jump out of tough situations, or just past a camera fast enough to not be recognised by the automatic security monitor. They are his pride and lifesaver, enabling him to do his usual stupid manoveurs. Of course, jumping through a persons field of view is not recommended, as it might result in suspicion or unintentional epic cinematics.

Mobbstar & Co. is not liable for damage sustained by crossing laser barriers.

- The Gatecrashers™ unhinge and propel any and all doors that get in Conways way. Unless he opens the doors beforehand, in that case they stay functional and relatively unpropelled. But when he does use his Gatecrashers, the obstructing mechanism known as door turns into a dangerous projectile, mercilessly knocking down any person standing up to three meters behind it.

Reinforced armour may prevent merciless downknocking.

- The Crosslinkinterconnects all manners of electronic devices. Nevermind that, apparently the corporations patched most of that. They haven't updated the firearm firmware, though, so Conway can at least use the Crosslink to remotely activate guns. Doing so will not only prompt investigation, but also perforate whatever is in front of the gun.

Mobbstar & Co. is not liable for death, serious injury or substantial material damage caused by crosslinked devices.

- NEW: The Intimidation Calibrator (trademark pending) allows Conway to politely convince others to grant him safe passage. By pointing a gun at them. No matter how rusty, antiquidated or out-of-ammunition the firearm in question may be, all eyes will be on Conway and nobody else. They will not dare to stop him from prancing around.

Mobbstar & Co. cannot guarantee intimidation if complex actions such as use of door handles are performed.

FAQ

Q: Why is Conway so weird and clownish?
A: Because that's how he is in Gunpoint. Please direct further queries to Tom Francis (and tell him hello from me).

Q: How do I install this mod?
A: Just click on "+subscribe", then launch your game and go to the settings. There, you need to "Refresh Workshop Mods", then restart the game.

Q: Do I need to install anything else?
A: You need the mod "Sim Constructor" by Cyberboy2000.

Q: Does Conway have any secret abilities?
A: =)

Q: I had an accident with the Bullfrog Hypertrousers™ and my window / furniture / family member / spine got damaged. Where can I request compensation?
A: Mobbstar & Co. is not liable for any damage caused by the Bullfrog Hypertrousers™. Please contact TX Fabrications instead.

Q: Isn't this mod a little bit overpowered?
A: Sorry I can't hear you, I'm having too much fun flinging myself into danger and somehow making it out alive. Weeee!

Q: Wouldn't it be more fun if every single agent has Gatecrashers™?
A: Yes, there's actually a campaign setting for that. =)

Hmm, no, I never play offline; connected online via Steam most of the time. At least in that most recent logged play, I was connected to the internet.

But yes, the crash is super random. When I tried it again with the exact same steps that I was doing (basically just loading the save again and using Crosslink again), nothing happened. It's not the first I encountered Crosslink-related crashes like this. But I never paid attention if the agent was facing a corner.

I'll let you know if there's a pattern!

The log file has some errors regarding phone animation (apparently i never tested the crosslink while the agent faces a corner) and http errors (did you play offline or somesuch?) and then it suddenly ends without any hint of why. I couldn't crash the game on the savefile either (though I don't have some mods like map pings or ui scaler installed, which i hope doesn't matter).

I'll see if I can fix the animation, at least. Thanks for the report, let me know if it goes away once the patch is out or if you notice a pattern to it!

Hello Mobbstar, thanks for the mod. I'm really enjoying it.

Just reporting that the shared Crosslink (one you can buy in Nanofabs) sometimes causes random crashes after being used. Here's a log and save file:

Gatecrasher does not count as a melee attack. I'm not entirely convinced it should, either. What do you think?
phase shift 9 Jul @ 6:34am
awesome. does gatecrasher activate melee attack augments? like predictive brawling or penetration scanner?

Ok, this is an amazing idea. Can't wait to start flinging myself into and out of danger like in Gunpoint. Kudos!

Have I correctly understood that Conway isn't able to crash locked doors? If so, I think it's a needed option.

Hi everyone! Enjoy the fourth major version of this mod: "Title Finally Relevant". Yes that's right, Conway can now hold guards at gunpoint! This only applies to new campaigns, using the "archive" loadout. Try it out and let us know how it goes!
