WARNING: Guns are loud and so is this mod. Be smart with the volume.



Thought I'd do a follow up to Realistic Explosions 4, except with guns this time.



Don't expect this to be 100% realistic. The Source engine is limited.





- AKM, AK74, AK74U, FAL, GALIL, M1A1, M4A1, M9, M14, M16A4, M40A1, M45A1, M249
- M590, AC-556, MK18, MOSIN, MP5K, MP40, MODEL 10, SKS, STERLING, TOZ, UMP-45
- M1911, MAKAROV, Flare Gun
- All Suppressors
- All gun distant sounds
- All gun handling sounds including the M203, GP-25, AT4, RPG-7
- Firing sound for M203 and GP-25
- Sounds for pulling out / putting away grenades





I don't own nor am I responsible for the creation of most of these sounds. All credits go to their original owners.

4/19/2018: Fixed and replaced all 3rd person sounds to get rid of those annoying muffling noises. I also re-did some of the distance sounds as well.

4/20/2018: Reworked some more distant sounds.

4/29/2018: Reworked the Mosin Suppressor sound.

5/11/2018: Re-did the suppressors for the AK’s and Galil. Also improved the third person firing sound for the flare gun and replaced the M16 and M4A1 distant sounds.

10/22/2018: Re-did the AR suppressors (M16A4, M4A1, MK18, AC556). Also added in new suppressor sounds for the M249.

10/31/2018: Re-did AR suppressors with better audio (M16A4, M4A1, MK18, AC556). Threw out the suppressor sound for the M249 (I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would).

11/12/2018: Swapped out a bunch of distant sounds for ones that are more realistic, especially the M40A1 (sounded like a .50 cal going off) and the Mosin (sounded too weak). Both sounds for these guns are more satisfying now.

11/23/2018: Put the M249 suppressor back in at popular request.





Q: This mod is too loud! Can you change it?
A: No.

Q: iT's NoT ToTaLlY ReAListiC!
A: No sh*t dumb@ss. Insurgency doesn't run on an engine like Frostbite or Unreal. That limits a lot of what I can do.


Q: The entire mod or parts of it won't work even though I'm subscribed.
A: The Source Engine doesn't always load your sound mods as soon as you get in game. Open Insurgency's console while your in game and type snd_restart. That usually fixes it. Note this command will disable your mic for a match. Don't panic, it'll come back in the next one.


Q: I keep hearing this ear-rape sound after I fire my weapons. Why is this?
A: This is a client side issue (affects all sound mods for Ins 2014). Verify your cache or reinstall the game. Most people aren't affected by this, but those who were fixed it by doing this.


Q: Are you going to keep updating this mod?
A: No.
