For those looking for a version of Independent Architecture for the Original Dataset (The one without DLC's), I have an IA mod for the Original Dataset linked here: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1084152856

NOTE: It is very important to make sure the "Independent Architecture" DAT Mod has a lower Mod Priority than the Architecture Mods.

May 5th Update - Fixed a few errors where some Decay SLP's were for the wrong units or Civ Groups

-Unit Edition Notes-

  • All the features from the Primary Version of Independent Architecture, including the Bug Fixes
  • As of now, Units are split into 4 "Regional Groups".
    • Asia, consisting of the Burmese, Chinese, Japanese, Khmer, Koreans, Malay, Mongols & Vietnamese
    • African, Indian & Middle Eastern Civs (Berbers, Ethiopians, Indians, Malians Persians, Saracens & Turks)
    • Americans, which is Aztecs, Incas & Mayans
    • The Byzantines and the Huns have their own dedicated unit sets. The Vietnamese has dedicated King graphics but still shares the "Unit Group" with the rest of the Asian Civilizations
    • The European Civilizations uses the original SLP files, which is now dedicated to them. Any standard Unit Graphic Mod will only effect the European Civs in IA.
  • For more information on the SLP ID's or creating Unit Mods for IA, please see the Text Files located in the directory of this mod (Easily done through the Workshop Menu ingame)

What is this version of Independent Architecture and why does it exist?

This version of Independent Architecture is a version that included support for dedicated units which I introduced to the Primary Version a bit less than a month ago. However, I never ended up getting much support / permissions for the idea despite numerous requests over the year to implement it to Independent Architecture and it was doing more harm than good, since it made the current unit mods incompatible (outside of European Civs) so I ended up (mostly) scrapping the idea. However again, a lot of work was put into the unit support and there is probably a handful of people who has hand modded units into the mod with Unit Mods either from the Workshop or AoK Heaven, so I don't want to completely remove it from the Workshop. Which is why this version exists.

For now, I will be putting my effort into supporting the primary mod at the moment and improving the quality of the Architecture aspect of the mod, but I will consider re-adding unit support to Independent Architecture when there is more support for that aspect of the mod.

Some Troubleshooting Notes

For loading Saved Games for Skirmish, Standard Games or Campaigns using IA, you need to "Pre-Load" Independent Architecture first or else it will crash AoE2HD. There is a more detailed tutorial on the Main Mod Page, but for a short guide here, you just have to start a new Standard Game with IA Selected. Then you should be able to load the save game without problems.

For me, the mod hasn't worked worked for sme time : it remains stuck on the original buildings and units, whatever the civilizations. What manipulation could I do ?

But Saint_michaels if it is put into the WololoKingdoms system won't it make it useless on Steam?

Nevermind, the Copyright takedown is by Okmar himself. I still don't think it will go though since it's ultimately "created on my behalf", something I have said to him multiple times and he agreed to and I have declared publicly that the IA project is basically "CC-0". If it does get taken down, I guess I'll just re-upload the mod as is or modified if Okmar has done more than the independent stuff (crediting him and acknowledging his efforts post 5.7 of course). I don't characteristically do stuff like that, but honestly I have ran out of patience and subtly.

If it gets another copyright notice, well then I guess I'll just convert everything to the WololoKingdoms system. Because that's something with his brain literally rotting away wants to do...

I'm sorry, I know it's disappointing but I really can't get re-involved with IA or continue modding AoE2 anymore. My health is going downhill and my personal life is a complete mess. I just don't have the time or energy to change tens of thousands of values or to get involved in this drama. Sorry.

I don't think there is anything to worry about with the takedown anyways. Outside of the Custom Elite Cannon Galleon, which I personally asked permission to use, IA with Units by itself does not use any fan created assets. Unless it's (the entire IA Mod) claimed to be "stolen" from myself, which is clearly not the case.

Hello Saint-Michaels, first I say hello and I hope you are well, the second, I wanted to ask you if I can use this mod Independent with Units as a base to recreate a mod that I am forming that is from the page aok.heaven.com that is from the community hence, this mod is described by its creators and to complete it I need a basis to use it and I would like to ask you if I can use the mod, to add other models that were left out and asked the creator to add those models, I hope an answer, I'll leave the links:

The Goths are the "base" civilization for the North European architecture, so if you wanted the mod you linked to to apply to the Goths ALONE, you just make sure that mod is active and play with IA and it should only effect them.
