[ES Collection] ErrantSword Mods: Surviving Mars
27 items
Description
This Mod introduces a basic Rocket Hardstanding to Surviving Mars. This can be found in the 'Infrastructure' build category. It does not effect Rocket operations, although a more advanced Mod may be developed in the future.

The Hardstanding is ideal for reserving dedicated areas for Rocket operations, and for general cosmetic use. It requires very low maintenance and can tolerate the high quantities of Dust generated by Rockets (although other nearby structures may be affected as normal). The Hardstanding can be demolished as usual.

The tarmac / gravelled area closely approximates the 'footprint' of a landed Rocket, while the additional rough concrete surround prevents blast scarring to nearby terrain. Rockets should be landed with the Lamp Projector in the rear 'notch' of the Rocket footprint. Power is connected by running a Cable into (or under) the Wall Node behind the lamp. This Wall Node has been pre-positioned to allow use of the 'Base Walls' Mod to enclose the Hardstanding.

Unlike most Mods, 'Rocket Hardstanding' can be activated and will appear within a previously saved game.

[KNOWN ISSUE: Drones can 'clip' through the Wall Node. This is necessary to ensure the Hardstanding can be maintained even when occupied. Without maintenance being enabled, no visual Dust accumulation could take place when the Hardstanding is in use.]

@Thundercraft - I'd like to do some updates, when I can get some time away from work. Like you say, I think the development cycle is complete, so hopefully this will be a legacy update

Is there a ghost of a chance of this mod getting an update?
(Hey, miracles do happen. :lunar2020playfuldog: )

The last game update was over a year ago. And my suspicion is that the devs have abandoned the game to it's current state, so I doubt you'd have to worry about future game updates breaking mods again.

Does this mod work with the latest version of the game?

Grats on your marriage, I assume from your honeymoon statement, hope your honeymoon was nice!

I'm now back (from Honeymoon!) and have just updated almost all of my Surviving Mars Mods for you guys. This one should now be working again! If there are any issues, please let me know.

Looking forward to more! I understand that for most modding is a hobby, but I have to say that in my opinion modders are the backbones of a lot of games. You have my respect, coding and debugging can be a frustrating process. There are many games out there that would be dead if modders didn't step in and share with the community. Thank you for you efforts, much appreciated.

I'm happy they did a pad, although I'll admit it'd have been nice to make it into the credits ;) Mine wasn't as in depth as some of the other ones they've added tho. ANd I think modding will always be a hobby, day job is busy enough most of the time! Hoping later this month I'll have some time off and can build some more stuff.
