Description
Description
The purpose of this mod is to prevent getting Great Persons from future Eras too early. So the costs of Great Persons is now increased. Also 6 new Great Scientists and 4 new Great Generals are added in the game, because the AI usually gets Scientists and Generals a lot.
This mod is balanced for my Increasing Research Costs and Harder Eurekas modification, but it is not necessary to use my other mod.

Changes
  • Higher Great Person costs depending on their Eras (values given for normal game speed):
    ERA
    MODDED COST
    VANILLA COST
    Classical
    80
    60
    Medieval
    160
    120
    Renaissance
    290
    240
    Industrial
    540
    420
    Modern
    980
    660
    Atomic
    1800
    960
    Information
    3280
    1320

  • Because of the higher GP costs every Industrial Hub (and the Hansa) grant +2 instead of +1 Great Engineer Points.

  • In oder to make sure that every Era has 4 Great Scientists (except the Information Era) the following GPs are added:
    - Aristotle: Grants a +150 Science and +150 Culture boost (on normal speed).
    - Albertus Magnus: Grants a free relic and a +150 Culture boost (on normal speed).
    - Alexander von Humboldt: Creates a Naturalist Unit. The Campus district's Science adjacency bonus provides Culture as well.
    - Madame Curie: Reveals Uranium and builds a Research Lab in the Campus district.
    - Max Planck: Grants a +2400 Science boost (on normal speed).

  • In oder to make sure that every Era has 4 Great Generals the following GPs are added:
    - Fabius Cunctator: Has two charges and grants the Stealth Ability to a land unit.
(I have tested this and the AI will not attack your stealth units as long as they do not see them, i.e. as long as they have no adjacent unit next to your stealth unit.)
    - Wallenstein: Has two charges and creates a Pike and Shot unit per charge. The Pike and Shot units do not have a free promotion however. Also grants +50 Gold (on normal speed).
    - Ulysses S. Grant: Grants one unit +7 strength when attacking. Also increases its movement by +1.
    - Joseph Joffre: Grants one unit +12 strength when defending.

There might be some further changes in the future.

Just out of interest do we know if this is compatible with equally great scientists?

If I were you I would wait until I have R&F to get the best civ experience. On summersales or keysellers you can get it for about 20$.

I dont have the money for Rise and fall. And I can't use the mod without the dlc :(

You need Rise and Fall because of Wallenstein who grants Pike and Shot units. Of course I could make another version that does not require R&F, but I wonder why you do not want to use this addon.

Very great mod. But could you please make it so it works for people without rise and fall?
