Description
Apart from a prototype called the U1, the U2 of the Frankfurt subway was Germany's (and possibly the world's) first true lightrail vehicle when it went into service in 1968.

This mod brings the U2 to Cities:Skylines as a passenger train, wearing the 1990's grue livery of VGF - if you choose the right line color, that is.

Very pretty vehicle you've made!

However, light rail vehicles are considerably older than the 60's. As early as the 20's, there were light rail vehicles running in the USA, although they were called Interurbans instead of light rail. They were the same thing, though. IIRC there were also some earlier examples in Europe, but I do not remember them right now.
