[LMM] Immersive Army Leadership

Descrizione
This mod adds immersion and flavor to leading an army by giving modifiers to characters leading an army and also to those characters who are the primary attacker/defender in a war but don't lead any armies themselves (cowardly behavior indeed!). The objective of this mod is to make leading an army an immersive decision by giving advantages and disadvantages to leading an army or staying safe in your court.

FEATURES

Any character count-tier or above while leading an army during a war will get a "Leading an army" modifier after a few in-game days giving the following:
- Martial +2 (leading the troops inspires you)
- Monthly prestige +2
- Vassal opinion +5
- Fertility -50% (busy leading troops)
- Health -0.2 (the world outside your comfy court is a dangerous and dirty place)
- Diplomacy -3 (busy leading troops)
- Stewardship -2 (busy leading troops)
- Intrigue -1 (busy leading troops)

AI rulers will get -20% Fertiliity and -0.1 Health instead for balance purposes.

Any count-tier or above character who is a primary defender or primary attacker in a war, and neither himself nor any of his close relatives or spouses who are his direct vassals are leading an army, will get a "Shying away from battle" modifier after a few in-game days giving the following:
- Monthly prestige -2
- Vassal opinion -5
- Tribal vassal opinion -10 (stacks with previous for a total of -15)
- Unreformed tribal vassal opinion -15 (stacks with the previous two for a total of -30)

This negative modifier does NOT apply to:
- Female rulers unless some conditions are fulfilled e.g. Gender law rule set to All, or religion or culture features, or Status of Women law etc.
- Characters whose primary title has "Imperial Administration" law
- Characters with the following government types: republic, theocarcy, roman imperial, chinese imperial

COMPATIBILITY
  • Should be compatible with all other mods. Also compatible with overhaul mods such as CK2+ and HIP.
  • Can be added to and removed from save games without problems.
  • Disables Achievements.

Enjoy! And don't forget to Rate and Thumbs up the mod if you like it :)

This mod is based on the original idea of a mod by another author. But since that older mod doesn't work anymore so I made a new one with some expanded features. Link to the older mod: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=252214879

Why it isn't compatible with "Terrain and Winter affect Military and Economy" and why the ruler, with whom i was at war long ago, still has modifier "Shying away from battle"?

It might be nice to remove the malus from pregnant females, or give them a 'fanatic bodyguards' buff if they do lead.
LordMidas™  [autore] 30 mag 2023, ore 8:28
Yeah if females are allowed to lead armies in your game then the malus will apply to them too.

I think the reason is that HIP allows your female ruler to lead armies

Works weirdly with HIP: as a female ruler (even pregnant lol), you get "shying away from battle" malus

@LordMidas™ The cunning flaw in your plan is that if I feel my character isn't ready to lead an offensive then I can simply put him in command of a tiny army parked somewhere far from conflict.
If he wasn't being penalised then I'd likely send him along in command of a sub-unit for the RP purpose of 'learning on the job'.

An alternative when attached to a sub-unit may be to experience the effects of being away from court without the prestige of command and without being labelled a coward.

@Dr Fraud: The mod only considers leading an actual flank to qualify as leading an army. Leading a subunit won't qualify. This is intended.
Dr Fraud 24 ott 2022, ore 13:33
My character is leading a unit within my Armies rather than being at the head of the entire army due to his lesser skills.
I just noticed he's receiving an opinion mallus for apparently "Shying Away From Battle"
What?

It doesn't seem to work for me

@D.: Good suggestion. I have updated the mod so the cowardice modifiers should no longer apply to republics, theocracies, roman imperial, chinese imperial and characters whose primary title has imperial administration.
