EngineX Authoring Tools | Quick Start Guide
By Swyter
Official setup guide for the free DLC that contains the original Eurocom toolset.

This small guide will show you how to configure the environment to use the original suite of tools that Eurocom made in 2003 to develop Sphinx. Allowing you to open and edit the original assets as well as creating your own content from scratch.

Keep in mind that the while the game itself is now cross-platform, most of the original development happened in Windows and used Microsoft tech like Win32 and MFC, so Linux and macOS modders may want to use something like Wine[www.winehq.org] to run the tools. Which, while not ideal, should work perfectly fine.

You can re-run the script again and it should remove the drives, as shown here: https://sphinxandthecursedmummy.fandom.com/wiki/Tutorial:Authoring_Tools:_Getting_started#Mounting_the_virtual_drives

how do I remove drive S and X ? i removed them from steam but they are still appearing as local disk S: and local disk X.

They should be under the Steam\steamapps\common\Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy\Tools folder. You can then mount both virtual drives as shown in the guide, run Tools\EngineX\utils\EuroLandRedux.exe and open any .ELF files under Tools\Sphinx\Grafix\Maps + Animations.
