Mid-Century Homes (MCH) - Lots

Description
Here is my second "Mid-Century Home", which will (eventually) be a collection of houses inspired by 1950's Suburbia. Its called The Boise, based on a vintage house plan of the same name. It is a Level Two, low residential "growable" on a 3x3 lot.

Because of my extreme dislike for "the ruining" around everything, my houses have been designed so they don't trigger that in-game. The base I added underground is only about 3 ft. (1 meter) deep, so these work best on flatter terrain. Also the hideous animated grass will poke through, so if you haven't already subbed to the "Remove Sprites" mod... do it now!!

There are a bunch of custom props involved, links are on the right. Or you can go to the MCH Props Collection and sub to everything needed with one click: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1295536581

SPECS:
Model: 751 Tris / 1024 x 1024
Custom LOD: 99 Tris / 128 x 128

I don't think it will require any DLCs, but note that I do have all of them installed on my system. If you run into any issues let me know!

NOTE: I made a choice between having the ugly grey base on this house or snow (when you remove the base they both disappear). Snow lost... so it will not generate on the house if used in a Snowfall DLC map, but the props will have snow on them. I'll work on some "snow friendly" houses down the road. :)

Oh, wow, that is a perfect addition to the mid-century style I'm going for in my city. And, looking through your other uploads, that drive-in theater is another piece of perfection, though I've never been to one that still uses the car-mounted speakers.

Much appreciated!

Thanks for this I need more retro housing.

Aha! Clever! :) I have a suggestion if you aren't doing it already. When you import your next house, the option "flatten terrain" is the default setting. Try out the other one, "flatten entire area", which might make it even harder for the base to show on a slope. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe that's what it means ;)
Thanks again for these, and my Florida cities will be enjoying their "new" neighborhoods where grandma and her pink plastic flamingos live :D

MrMiyagi ... I know right! I mean... my yard is terrible but my neighbor across the street has "Home & Graden" magazine cover quality lawn. Lol!

So the trick is all in the coordinates in whatever 3D program is used... there can't be any point/nodes/vertices at the ground level. If they are slightly below the game won't pick them up. The trade off though is no automatic "base" on uneven terrain. I also noticed during the "construction" phase the building isn't there. It just pops up when the scaffolding is removed. Fair trade as far as I'm concerned! :)

:chirp: I love them! I hear you on the horrible sprites and grass ruining. A map theme creator can actually fix both of those so you don't have to use an old mod like no sprites. A good number of my map themes have no ruining on grass, and none have those horrible grass and rock sprites. It's a toggle switch ;)
I'll be very interested to hear how your buildings prevent the ruining! I really hate that. Come on, people in suburbs have nice yards :D
