Level Of Detail System Improvements

Description
Update: LOD transition speed halved due to the transition still being very noticeable when flying into range of something.

Better Level of Detail distance switching and smooth transitions, Skybox compatible, as long as they do not unnecessarily contain the High, Medium and Low LOD part of the file

No more fast LOD switching in front of your eyes, they will now be slow and smooth over 2-2.5 seconds (now 1.25), and the LOD distance multipliers have been improved

Warning: if you normally used medium Model settings, you may need to switch to Low when using this mod, if you normally used low, well, um... you may have problems if using an old graphics card pre-GTX650 and AMD 7750 ish
however low end PC use with this mod is still untested, so it may be fine.

I cant believe this hasnt been done yet, by either another modder or KEEN, it took me a few hours to figure out where the problems were after noticing the LOD modifier settings are somewhere that can be modded, i cant fix the underlying code in the game, but i can adjust the modifiers to compensate

This adjusts the Low, Medium, and High, Model Level of Detail info that corresponds to your Model detail setting in your Graphics options, the Medium model detail setting with this mod will be similar to High without the mod, but will still never use the highest detail model, so just improves the LOD model transition and the distances at which this happens

Im quite certain i have a good set of values for Medium and High, but unsure of the values for Low as i have a high end PC, but any feedback on all the settings would be appreciated :)

Note: i havent fixed that battery LOD in the image or video, it was just the worst offender for bad LOD models, infact no actual models have been altered with this mod

ok I got around this with sync distance extended, but what I had on default settings, when the distant object was under the crosshairs it would vanish. When the distant object was closer to screen edge, it faded in to view. If I turned my 'head' to look right at it, it faded out again.
As I say, sync distance means I don't see this now.

This is great, one thing I noticed, if I am looking at a distant (3km +) NPC ship in the sky, I can see the model when I look to the side of it, so it is on the side of the screen; it fades out when I look right at it. Without this mod the ship won;t draw at all. Anyone know why this is?

does this also fix the problem that you can see underground caves on planets from far out / orbit?
