Menu UI Update - No Steam Group Servers

Description
A vanilla-style menu improvement mod. This addon is essentially a "best-of" the most useful menu fixes and features that I've either made myself or adopted from other mods that retain the original look of the game's UI. It dates back to before the TLS update so some of the changes became obsolete or redundant. When I've borrowed things from other modders, I have provided credits below. Almost all borrowed work has been edited by me, at least in some capacity. There are too many changes to make a completely comprehensive list but I will mention the following additions:

Main features:
  • All Games Search (experimental, for some reason this might not show all games, but it seems to show more if you cycle through games/lobbies). This feature is a button just to the left of Play Campaign.
  • Server Browser.
  • Reformatted add-on browser, campaign browser, mutations browser, friends/steam server browser, and achievement list to better utilize screen space.
  • Realism and Survival single-player option
  • Splitscreen support
  • Video Options menu now defaults to the expanded "Advanced Settings"
  • Removed Blog Post
  • Hefty in-game menu supplement and Extras menu on the main menu; "Set Lerp to 0" executes the following commands:
cl_cmdrate 100;rate 100000;cl_cmdrate 101;cl_updaterate 101;cl_interp 0;cl_interp_ratio -1

SPLITSCREEN HELP (locally hosting):
1) Connect two controllers to the computer. Set up keybindings manually or find a preset in a guide.
2) Make sure the developer console is enabled.
3) Enter "sv_lan 1" into the dev console before playing (or put this line into your autoexec.cfg file). Because of a bug with the TLS update, splitscreen will give an error message that reads "STEAM validation rejected" if you don't have sv_lan 1.

I don't know if it's a you problem, but pretty sure. I have been able to call votes using various versions of this menu ui update, and I don't think I edited that.

I already said I'm not going to look into fixing it since it's not replicable on my end and I'm not going to be changing it to accommodate the 2% of people who use controllers. If it's a problem for you, you can go ahead and fix it yourself. Otherwise you can always use addonlist.txt to change whatever mods you want.

The link is the screenshot, the console input UI moves the rest of the UI instead of overlaying itself.

No, sorry. If you want to work on it and create a fix, I'll review it and potentially update this add-on. However I don't use a controller and am not familiar with how the UI changes when it's used.

Are you going to fix it?
Olde  [author] 8 Sep, 2022 @ 5:36pm
Probably not, but if you can link me to a video that displays that happening maybe I can see if I can do anything about it.

will you update this so that when a controller is added everything doesn't moves up and gets cutoff?

Hi Solekeeper, thank you for bringing this to my attention. Judging from Steam threads, the update is causing huge issues for people, not least of all those of us who use mods. Seeing as members of the team specifically said that they don't want any future L4D2 updates to break mod compatibility--and this did to a horrendous degree--I fully expect them to fix their mistake and make the game compatible with mods again. So unless they specifically say they won't be making the game compatible with mods, I feel it's better to wait. Thanks.
