ASM Vendal salvage cruiser

FULLY VANILLA


The ASM Vendal class cruiser was designed as a general purpose salvage ship. Equiped with powerfull thrusters, a large hangar, landing gear for attaching to scrap, and an advanced sensor array that allows it to match speeds with potential targets, the Vendal can easily reach, attach itself to, and proceed to disasemble with small craft a derelict ship (as long as it isnt going at max speed)

However as many other ships, due to its large hangar bay and adaptable facilities it has seen wide use as a mining vessel, cargo transport, exploration vessel, etc. It has also seen some use as a piratical vessel for the same reasons, altough usually modified to the point of hardly being the same ship, as aditional armor plates and weapon systems twist the shape of the hull.

The ship includes: frontal command bridge, crew quarters, medical bay, hangar area, and refining and assembling facilities. Most of the ship thrust is concentrated on the back section.

Weapon systems: 2 gatling turrets for self defense purposes
Standard complement: two BUDy grinder ships.

The ship makes use of Whiplash´s speed matcher for precise manouvering around derelict ships which usually are drifting away at high speeds. When using it, the ship will use the speed of the target as its default speed (AKA inertia dampeners will put you in that speed instead of 0m/s) allowing the ship to use the landing gears to attach itself to the derelict, slow it down, and start grinding. It is usual that the salvage team will empty the derelict of any cargo before starting to dissmantle it.
IMPORTANT TOOLBAR KEYS:
1-front camera: use it to point at the target scrap.
2-Speed matcher: use it to match the speed of the targeted scrap.
3-Speed matcher: will turn off the speed matcher.
