Apologies to all my subscribers & followers for the deletion of my entire SE workshop a while ago.
You'll be glad to know I'm back in the saddle though, with a whole heap of quality new content for you.
I hope you enjoy it - and please be patient while I get it all published, as it's likely going to take a while.

Welcome to EMGC
===============
EMGC is the Enthusiastic Malleable Goods Condominium, a newly formed subsidiary of SAVTec Industries.
Named in honour of a certain Earth-based Software House, EMGC has but a single goal; to rebuild, rebalance & improve upon the ships of the KSH fleet, making them more practical, useful and fun in-game, while still retaining the original KSH style.

EMGC will eventually comprise 3 ranges of ships; the Respawn & Cargo ships, the Easy Start ships and the Campaign ships.

Where possible, all EMGC & SAVTec ships feature...

-Clean control panel with all items named, grouped & hidden where appropriate.
-All control panel items prefixed with the name of the ship for easy identification.
-Cameras forward & aft, docking cameras port & starboard, additional cameras as required.

The K-8 Advanced Military Escort
=========================
The 8th (surprisingly enough) ship in my EMGC Cargo Ships range is the Advanced Military Escort.

Not being much into the combat side of the game myself, building fighting ships is a fairly unusual thing for me, hence a lot of thought (probably too much) went into the tactical useage of this one.

The basic premise hasn't changed. The K-8 is still a pure combat vessel - it's just much more heavily armoured than its KSH predecessor.

The overall shape has changed considerably, though I think it still manages to resemble the original ship quite nicely (trust me, the original ship really is still under there!)

I've done away with the walk-through interior & instead opted for a single enclosed cockpit toward the stern. This puts a ridiculous amount of armour in front of the player, which if used to the best of its advantage, makes the ship exceptionally difficult to destroy.

Basically I've designed it on the battle-tank principal - 90% of the armour is forward facing, so as long as you keep the bow on your target you're pretty much guaranteed not to die.

Just like a tank, the K-8 is heavy & slow due to the sheer amount of metal it's carrying around - but as long as it remains a moving target, it's armour should more than offset this disadvantage.

The weapon turrets are perhaps the most vulnerable part of the ship but with some slight modifications to the armour, they can be at least half shielded from frontal attacks. I've not included these armour modifications wtih this version, as they significantly alter the style of the ship. Instead I'll be releasing a Mk2 version at a later date as part of my EMGC Alternate Cargo Ships set.

The K-8 crews one and can carry enough ammo to destroy a small asteroid. Check out this incredibly long list of features...

The K-8, like all my EMGC ships can be flown on remote - effectively turning it into a super-heavy combat drone - just don't expect the antenna to last very long in a firefight!

Oh, and I've also given the pilot a large LCD screen to look at, in case one day we're able to view cameras on LCD's.

In true battle-tank fashion, the K-8 has no windows & instead relies entirely on "episcopes" (cameras) - 2 static and 4 weapon turret cameras for a view of space.

Tactically, the K-8 functions well alone but is at its most deadly as a pack hunter. For best results against much larger, more heavily armed & armoured combattants, deploy in squadrons.

The K-8 is designed to perfectly compliment both the K-9 Advanced Military Minelayer and the upcoming K-10 Advanced Military Transporter in a battle group, with each ship making up for the shortcomings of the other two.

@Walnut... as it so happens there are 2 ways. The hard way is to fart around swapping out SBC files with confusing names in your game directory. The easy way is to keep an eye on my EMGC collection - because Glenn G is creating a mod as we speak that does exactly what you ask! It's not published yet but I gather it's not far away. I'll add it to the collection as soon as it's on the workshop, so keep checking back - or hit "follow" to have it appear in your list.
