It is the end of the second century. After 400 years of rule, the once-great Han dynasty is crumbling.
Rebellion divides the land and ambitious heroes rise up to conquer their neighbors and build new
empires.

To succeed in this harsh era you must defy the emperor, assemble powerful armies and find
brilliant advisors to undermine your foes with devastating stratagems. You will prepare an heir, see
them blossom and take the throne of the empire that you have built.

Though you may be of meager talent and virtue, it is the will of the heavens that your house unify
the lands of ancient China and rebuild where the Han faltered. Other nobles will oppose you. They
will submit, or they will be destroyed.

Reign: Three Kingdoms is a card-based strategy game intended for between 3 to 8 players. In Reign, each player takes the role of one of 8 key warlords from the Three Kingdoms period of ancient China, managing their households, military campaigns and strategems in the attempt to gain control of the Imperial Seal and crown themselves Emperor of all under heaven.

The game uses simple and intuitive gameplay systems that are easy to learn but hard to master, using character and card management to crush rival warlords in key battles, while simultaneously denying the enemy their own victories through wits, skill and strategy.

Ambitious warlords must make use of whatever they can muster if they hope to gain hegemony of the former Han empire and begin a new Dynasty!

The game rules are intended to provide a highly modular level of complexity for the game, with entirely optional mechanics and varying methods of displaying the conquests of the warlords ont he game map, either through simple flags over the beautiful stylised map, directly colouring in provinces to match the conquering warlord, or through the provided Province cards. Reign: Three Kingdoms is a game that puts player experience at the forefront.
