Description:
Developed in tandem with Hades Driveyards' newest generation of warships, the Slicer Light Drone is a cheap and extremely compact combat and scout drone. The craft was designed to be used by ships like the Umikaze Drone Corvette and other upcoming ships. It serves as their standard air wing, although the same docking pads are also compatible with utility craft such as repair or mining drones. The choice between additional damage, fleet support or ressource harvesting makes drone combat ships extremely versatile. Slicers are often stored on the outside of their mothership, which allows for rapid deployment and recovery if need be. Although this leaves them exposed to enemy attacks the benefits have been said to outweigh the sacrifices of such storage.

In combat, a lone Slicer might not be a daunting opponent, but multiple drones supported with a nearby capital ship is a lethal force. To fend off enemy point defense fire, the Slicer relies neither on its mobility nor its armor (both are comparatively bad due to the space-saving ion thrusters and small size), but on the presence of a decoy-equipped mothership. The decoy generators employed by HDY emit a strong radar clutter that masks the tiny signature of a Slicer drone, thereby disrupting hostile targeting solutions and forcing the enemy weapons to target the decoys instead.

@Senjougahara Hitagi: Thanks for the compliment. I in fact know no Japanese at all, the names I use are from Japanese warships. Umikaze in particular was an early destroyer / torpedo cruiser built before the first world war. So thanks for the translation!
Funnily enough I am currently working on a drone battlecruiser too! Mine will be called Hyuga, then again I should propably not spoil too much :D And this is a new doctrine to me too. So both of us are kind of in a learning curve here. Also, keep in mind these are designed to compete against ships of similar design, namely the ACI faction managed by k_medlock. While we are allies lore-wise, I generally try to make my ships to be as balanced against his as possible.

I see you too using japanese names in ships! I'm learning japanese and know - Umikaze means sea wind! :KSmiley:
I plan my next ship to be automated drone mothership, it's a massively new direction for me, I will try to learn something from your works.

Wow, thanks! It helped. And also, I'm using paint.net too!

@Senjougahara Hitagi: In fact I can! How I do it is I take a normal blueprint screenshot in the F10 menu. Then you will have to locate the file where your blueprints are stored for Space Engineers. I am not sure if it differs for other users, but for me the blueprints are on the C drive, under users\[your user]\App Data\Roaming\Space Engineers\Blueprints\local (not sure if local is a part of the path or not TBH, I am a pretty bad computer geek). If you have found your desired blueprint, you have to open it. I then modify the image with prefabricated overlays done using the free tool paint.net . I am not sure if it is possible to add a fully custom image, but I guess it is worth a try! I think you have to do this before uploading though.

Good luck!

Hello, Doctor Budgie, I'm author of another ship (F-08 Kamonohashi). I'm just can't figure out how to make custom image on preview... Like you did! I've made it, bug can't install. Can't you help me?

"And thus, my little children, the War of Two Suns was won with superior cuteness. To this day, kitten videos stand inferior to Slicer drone videos in view count. Now, before we move on with our history lesson, does anyone have any questions on the topic?" -unknown history teacher, 2389

Oh no! They are just too cute to shoot! :D How are the Terrans supposed to win if the Jovians are bombarding them with these cute little drones haha?
