how to fix dishonored 2 fps drops
1st of all you need go in your gpu panel (Nvidia control panel) than go Manage 3D settings----> than go program Settings and choose Dishonored 2 exe if you cant find it use add and sort by choose Recently used so you can find it easily and if you are done with that than find Maximum Pre-rendered frames and choose number--->1<---- just make sure that you have press apply and you are done :D

On the current versions of Nvidia drivers, this option has been replaced with Low Latency Mode. Set it to "On" (not "Ultra") which is equivalent to setting maximum pre-rendered frames to 1.

I know this post is old but I do not have this option. I have nvidia gtx 750. I have everything else but not the option of "maximum pre-rendered farmes"

I suppose coding is very much like body chemistry -- everyone has differing results when tampered with :/

It reduced my performance by quite a bit. If this tweak was some magic thing then it already would have been done by default.

yeah but it changes the settings on your gpu only for this game if they have problem with fps drops so if they try it and launch the game and they have the same issues (low fps) the can change it in default so its not danger that if you change the settings on your gpu panel

I have no doubt at all that lowering the pre-rendered frame maximum from its default value has improved the smoothness of your game, but telling people to generally do the same is dangerously uninformed advice. The impact of this setting is highly dependent on the configuration on the system, changing it can have positive impact on the frame pacing, but it's also possible that the opposite happens. In addition to that, other side effects like increased or reduced input lag could occur.

It's probably more reasonable to advice people to not blindly change the setting to an arbitrary value, but rather gradually lower or raise the value and see how the game reacts in terms of smoothness and responsiveness.
