There are 5 things you need to keep in mind while staying hidden in this game, I will provide some brief detail here and go more in depth in later sections.

This is not in the sense of colour, even though it does apply to it. You don't want to contrast against your background. (i.e. the sky when you are on a hill)

Hiding in the shadows is a very effective way to not be seen, even though it is not fool proof.

This isn't too important in the game because you cant wear any really overly colourful things, but you are least likely to be seen if you are the same colour as the ground

If you aren't moving, you're less likely to be seen.

Hiding in a bush makes you less likely to be seen.

Contrast is probably the main reason why you're dying. Even if you're hiding in the shade or blend in with what's around you have to look flush with the landscape (You don't want to look like a person).

The best way to do this is to simply lie prone. If you lie flat on the ground, you are harder to see. Especially if you blend with the ground. However, peaking over ridges can show your head, which is easy to identify (Depending on distance).

Contrast is probably the main reason you get killed, at least from a distance.

Shadow can affect you in a few different ways.

The main way it affects you is helping you conceal yourself, like in the corner of a dark room, but it can effect you adversly. For example, if you are standing on a roof with your shadow on the ground. That makes it easy for someone to come out and shoot you, even though it is unlikely.

Colour might seem to be the most important factor ingame, but it really isn't, considering that you can't wear a hot pink uniform. It's best if you blend with your enviroment, but that is only a problem up close, considering that you cant really see colour well at far distances.

Every "faction" has their distinct colour. (except for the us army and the aus forces, they are pretty much the same.

Lying down in a bush is probably the most effective way to stay hidden. The only real way you can see someone doing that (If they're doing it well) is to see their muzzle flash.

Try and avoid sticking your head above trenches, as that makes it easily visible. Sticking your head up and shooting out of windows is okay if you're high up enough or at a spot where no one looks.

• Distance - If you're able to stay away, do it, it makes you harder to see.
  
• Commonality - Try and avoid common places, as you are more likely to be seen.
