Basically I took Wollie the dog from the first mod, put it on Dante from the second (which I liked esthetically) and added some improvements. Originally, this mod was made for personal use of me and my group, but it is pretty finished and free for grabs. If you like this, you should go give thumbs up to the original authors of the mods: ShiroCAT, SageOfLegend, Fidooop.

This mod adds Dante as a playable character:

Dante's stats:

Health - 125
Hunger - 150
Sanity - 200

Dante does not possess any special abilities himself (contrary to the original Dante). His specialty comes from having Wollie, permanent companion dog.

Wollie starts as a pupper, with weak attack, but he can level up slowly by being fed, up to a max level 20. As he levels up he becomes tougher and grows in size. He is not much help on bosses, but he can hold his own against pests (when leveled anyway).
Wollie also provides small sanity aura and movement boost to Dante when well fed.

Beware though, you will need to feed two characters.

When Wollie dies, Dante receives severe sanity penalty until Wollie is resurrected. You can resurrect him by crafting Canine Heart and using it on his corpse (if you lose his corpse you can craft his collar and use the heart on that instead). Wollie can now die from starvation too, better feed him regularily.

Wollie has improved AI and leveling system:
He can level up by feeding him any meat.
When in good health, Wollie now attacks smaller enemies on his own instead of waiting for the owner to hit/get hit.
Overal he is now trying very hard to stay alive. When at low health, he runs away from enemies. He also runs away from bosses unless he is at least level 10.
When happy, he is quite lively, chasing birds and running around frantically.
