How to fix the weird weapon sounds or cut-out?
(It is recommended that you do snd_updateaudiocache command BEFORE testing the sounds.)
Type in the developer console: snd_updateaudioache (It will freeze your game for 1 minute but it will be ok)
If your sounds are still messed, try: snd_rebuildaudiocache (It will start a rebuilding progress monitorized in the console just like Rebuilding audio cache (1854/12842) )
After you rebuilt the audio cache, make sure you type: snd_updateaudiocache!

If the problem persists, this solution is 100% proven to work: (Last tested 06/01/2014
So unsubscribing and suscribing again, should finally fix it (After putting the developer console commands.)

1- Download GCF Scape from Nem's Tools website http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26
2- Go to Steam/steamapps/left4dead2/left4dead2/addons(Could be in common/left4dead2. Not aware of updates.)
3- Select file improvedsounds.vpk and open it with GCFscape application.
4- Extract the "sound" folder in: "Steam/SteamApps/left4dead2/left4dead2"
5- Go to "Steam/SteamApps/left4dead2/left4dead2/sound", and remove the "sound.cache" file, or move it somewhere out of that folder if you want to back it up.
6- Start Left 4 Dead 2 with the console enabled, and type: snd_rebuildaudiocache . It can take up to 15 minutes, so be patient, you may see a progress in the console, like (2777/54250 files completed)
7-After doing that, the game will probably quit. Start it again, with the console enabled, and type: snd_updateaudiocache.
8- Wait 5-10 minutes, and start a new game.
9- No more cut-offs! Enjoy the soundpack!
