Description:
After the introduction of the Gladius Tactical Bomber, the Ori Republic found that the craft consumed ressources at an alarming rate. This proved to be a hindrance for extended operations without support from a station. Hades Driveyards had so far been largely adept at fighting inside the Jupiter system, which was littered with stations, outposts and colonies. Now, with HDY forces defending not only one planet but an entire star system for extended periods, transporting fuel and supply goods from ship to ship or from ship to surface became harder and more infrequent. So far, this massive shortcoming had been concealed, but now it struck with full effect and caused delays in the Ori Republic fleet movements.

Out of this necessity, the Bison was created. This small shuttle would be the first of a series of supply ships that would focus on the logistical effort necessary to keep the over one hundred ships and stations across all of Betelgeuse in combat shape.

The Bison serves as a trans-atmospherical shuttle. She carries a parachute system for safe descent when loaded, a novelty amongst HDY designs. A set of atmospheric lifting engines allows the Bison to operate in almost any known environment with a full cargohold while the powerful hydrogen fusion engines provide the necessary thrust to push the ship out of the startosphere and into a stable orbit. The vessel also features a second seat for a potential passenger or load supervisor. The Bison features a standard lower connector array that is suited for all HDY Carriers and most other manufacturers' ships.

Upon introduction, the ship quickly saw widespread use amongst both military and civilian pilots. demilitarized versions are even sold to other neutral entities such as the Outer Planets Ressurcing Conglomerate, which uses the Bison to supply the construction of their modular station series. The HDY Carrier Hiryu, famed for her tragic story and her brave fight at Ironheart Station, carried many Bison-class Shuttles aboard as part of her Support Carrier refit.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Currently experimenting with ways to present my builds in a more visually appealing way. Stay tuned for the next creations to see if I pulled it off!

That is a beautiful cargo ship! I'd be concerned it won't be able to get off planet fully loaded with only two large H-thrusters. I've had trouble on a smaller cargo ship with three. But dang, it's sharp!

Well, repainting will help a great deal with the update problem :D

I use random builds like this for pictures lol and I repainted it mainly dark red with black as a secondary and cool grey as a tertiary

Heh, didn't know anyone still visited this build :D It's out of date and the paint has sadly been ruined by updates.

In fact I did not test how much it can lift, since I design these primarily for creative use. It is fully capable of SSTO ascent once emptied however, so I guess you could call it a cargo drop ship :)

I am assuming this only works for getting cargo down onto planets/moons, judging from the lack of up thrusters (only 2 largo atmos) and parachutes ? That kind of makes it a Cargo Drop Ship :)
