Wx-78: Stranger Newer Powers

Description
You ever wanted to build a clockwork army? Now you can!

You ever wondered why clockworks attacked Wx on sight? Now they don't!

You ever wish you could eat electrical doodads to trigger overcharge? Now you can!

In keeping with the other mods under the "Stranger Newer Powers" theme this mod is an overhaul/rebalance for Wx. It generally takes away some of his passive power and speed (no speed bonus from overcharge, as speed is far too useful) but gives him additional utility and flavor.



Short verson:
+Wx is now neutral to clockworks (his own and those already existing)
+Can construct (half health and damage) ones of his own that will follow him if given gears or an electrical doodad
+Wx can also eat doodads for short duration overcharges
-In exchange, overcharge no longer has a speed boost and Wx has 5 upgrade levels ending at 250 in each stat, and starting at 100 in each stat. Less gears for upgrading means more for clockwork minions.

Wx's clockworks are NOT friendly towards other players unless they're following him.

The goal of this rework is to make Wx more fun and interesting to play, decreasing his dependence on Wickerbottom for overcharge, and to allow him to create a clockwork army with enough gears.

Balance is subject to change in the short term based on additional testing and feedback.

@Toroic is it possible if your still working on this mod to make it compatibile with Reliable WX-78 mod by BEKKITT ? and possibly add the ability to retain upgrades even after death?

I really like the idea of this mod, just struggling getting it to function properly .

@Toroic, It's actually "WX-2.0, The Iron Man". Considering both change how many max gears the character can utilize, I understand why they wouldn't work together. While I do enjoy both, i'd like to utilize the clockwork bit from this mod. As it's great just to have a horde of clockworks.

@Papa Arty, unfortunately you're unlikely to have compatibilty when using multiple character mods that affect the same character. If you let me know what other mod you're using, I might be able to provide a workaround.

While I do love playing WX-78 as he's my favorite unmodded character in game, this mod pack has a lot of fantastic features but one stands above all. I always loved the idea of crafting constructs, as having minions like Webber is fantastic (But robots are just cooler). While I am I happy with the mod pack itself, it leads into a few problems that remove from the fun a bit. I haven't discovered any bugs yet with the mod itself installed, but I love installing multiple mods onto a character to bring a large amount of new content with them. As this tinkers with WX's stats though, the crafting recipes refuse to show if I have another mod that tinkers with WX's stats too. Although I have no idea how difficult it'd be, could there ever be a stand alone mod to give crafting recipes to all characters?

how do i fix the clockworks that i build? like htey're just piles of metal and gears is there a tool you use for this?

I did a bit more testing, and with pretty much every other mod character it works perfectly fine. It seems like it's only when a player is playing as another clockwork does the error occur. It probably thinks the player is a normal clockwork monster and tries to send the entity data to them when they get attacked, and that's where the conflict comes in.

Hopefully that helps you narrow down what the cause might be, and if you can't find another solution, it looks like the only mod you'd have to build around is Playable Pets (the mod I'm using that lets people play as clockworks).

@Facet, I suspect the issue comes into play with how some enemies communicate with each other when attacked. Spiders for example, pass along the entity that attacked them to nearby spiders, which is why they all react to try to kill you.

It's difficult for me to support mod interactions (as issues can come from many sources) but if you get me a list of mods used I'll look into it if I have time.

"clockwork2player" refers to the player I mentioned (he was playing as a clockwork bishop using a mod at the time) and the "workshop-1378549454" is Gem Core - I think it's just adding a bunch of console junk that doesn't really pertain to the error.
