Broadsword Black Edition

The goal of this project is to produce a strong combat SV in the style of a Snubfighter, as a step up from the Short Sword.

I wanted to retain the heart of the ship which I felt was the immersion of it all. It is difficult to successfully armour a craft without sealing in the cockpit so that it never sees the light of space - which I set out to design against! The Broadsword (initially dubbed the 'Longsword') went through many radical designs before reaching the current model which I feel embraces the feeling of a Snubfighter with a supercharged front end that you could really jump into and fly away.

The Broadsword. It isn't a name the galaxy fears, but a name it respects from a suitable distance. Legends tell of how a simple-minded Short Sword pilot crashed into a furnice, and pulled out with metres of blue radiating steel sealed around the front half of the craft. The reality of it all is that the Broadsword is a ship that can shoot - but also be shot at.

Oh and it moves sideways faster than a crab that finds another crab attractive.. or something.. I don't know where I'm going with this.... but they are going at 87ms^-2.
