Dark Pact is a new skill in Path of Exile 3.0. It can be used in a number of ways, so in this video I will show you 8 different builds to inspire you. I will be trying the Necromancer with minions variation myself in the Harbinger League.

Dark Pact sacrifices 6% of your life, or that of up to 3 skeletons, to deal AoE chaos spell damage to enemies. This means we can focus on minions, and sacrificing their life, or we can focus on sacrificing our own life. The end result is always an AoE spell that does chaos damage. Each build showcases a different style.

Scaling chaos damage usually involves a Wither spell totem with increased duration and faster casting to try and get to 20 Wither debuff stacks, increasing damage taken by 140%.

Arcane Surge is a support gem that gives more spell damage, cast speed and mana regen for 4 seconds. We trigger it by spending mana with a linked skill. The mana threshold for Arcane Surge climbs up very strongly at higher levels, so keep it low level and attach it to a utility skill such as Flame Dash and you can keep it up in most fights without effort. If the mana threshold is lower than the spell's mana cost, you always trigger it!

Because I played around so much with the builds, the numbers in the notes might not be entirely accurate, but they ought to be in the ballpark. For the Saboteur you should keep in mind that Path of Building does not (yet) use 1 HP for "player life" when a trap or mine uses it. All builds default to level 80, with level 19 gems, 6 ascendancy points and good rare gear. Some builds might include more gear variations to try. Self-cast builds use Life Leech support instead of a damage gem where required.
