BA_Prefab_Tier1_Alt5

Description
Note: This version is a bit larger, has an extra Sentry Turret, has larger Cargo Boxes and has room for 18 Growing Plots. If you don't plan to grow much and prefer a slightly smaller and cheaper base, you may want my earlier version: BA_Prefab_Tier1_Alt4

"Starting in luxury, with a large growing area, indoor pool & a vehicle bay"

This is a level 3 starter base with extra amenities and features:
  • 2 Grow Lights & room for 18 Growing Plots - This is double the capacity of the Alt4. It does not come with Growing Plots in order for it to be buildable without needing a Food Processor and a Large Constructor. To avoid using a Multitool, there are no placeholder blocks.
  • Concrete exterior - Concrete blocks have a lot more hitpoints than Wood. This requires Rock Dust, but Crushed Rock should be abundant after some mining. And both Concrete walls and glass Windows allow the Multitool to Reinforce them. Also, I tried to make some areas thicker for durability.
  • Wood floor - The floor and interior walls are Wood to save on materials.
  • Airtight
  • Hidden Core & main blocks - The Core, Generator and Fuel Tank are hidden at the bottom of the pillars under the vehicle bay. This not only protects them, it should draw Drone fire away from the main part of the base as they target the Core.
  • Turret space - It comes with 1 Sentry Turret and 1 Cannon Turret, but there is space for a 2nd Cannon Turret.
  • Room for expansion - There is a small, empty room on the right (bedroom?) and another the left (bathroom). I did not include doors so as to save energy and materials, so DIY. (TIP: If you need a Ventilator and insist on doors for these rooms, you could use glass/transparent doors as they are not Airtight. Otherwise, you'd need Ventilator access in each room.)
  • Floor space - I made the floor extra thick. And I've marked the floor with "C" as a good location for a second Constructor plus a Container. You can get away with removing floor blocks for more space. Just don't go 3 blocks deep and avoid taking out the absolute front row or back row.
  • Only the essentials - If you use this on a world with a breathable atmo, then you won't need an Oxygen Tank, O2 Station or Ventilator. These things have not be included to save on energy and materials. Add them yourself after placing. I've reserved some 2-block height spaces for tall devices: There are 4 in the small rooms and several in the center hallway. If you need more, you could Multitool the floor or place horizontally.
  • Minimalist - There are no exterior lights. (I'm relying on glow textures to see it at night.) There is only 1 light in the main area, plus 1 each in the right room and left room that's normally off. Out of the box, assuming you leave the Constructor idling and only one light on, it consumes just 38 kW. With a full tank of fuel, this will last 31.27 hours. (Turning the Constructor off would save another 2 kW.)
  • Indoor Pool - I got tired of back and forth trips to a lake for the Water Generator, Oxygen Generator and/or Hydrogen Generator. Place this off the shore so water appears in the pool, which extends under both Growing Plot areas for plenty of space. Harvest these in the comfort of your own home!
TIP: Each Container adds 1 kW to energy usage. Instead of more Containers, you could place extra Food Processors. Each holds far more stuff than a Container and they don't require power unless they're making something.

Notably, the added height should allow for easier placement on uneven terrain. It'll work on hill sides. But the indoor "pool" is useful if you place it off the shore so the water level is a bit below the block height (5m ?) of the main floor or vehicle bay. The vehicle bay ramp is off to one side so that it can be rotated such that it reaches dry ground. (Ideally, the side opposite the ramp should be the deepest water or steepest slope.)

Credits:
The base itself is heavily inspired by Subquake's BA_Prefab_Tier1. I started expanding on and customizing it, but I got carried away. So, I took what I learned and built something new. The vehicle bay was inspired by the "Jenson's Hope" Base.

Starter Vehicles:
If you're looking for a low level HV for the bay, perhaps one of these would work:
  • SP-Starter-HV (level 3, bare essentials, one fixed gun, open cockpit design)
  • T0_HV (level 5, super cheap, one turret on top)
  • KHV-2 Harvester (level 5, Harvester, containers, Fridge, Constructor, O2 Station)
  • LittleRustBucket (level 5, Harvester, Cargo Box (Harvest), 1x Minigun Turret, 2x Gatling Guns)
  • Colony-Speeder-A1 (level 5, Constructor, container, Fridge, O2 Station, 1x Minigun Turret, 2x Gatling Guns)

BTW: There is a trick to placing a Water or Oxygen Generator in the pool. Obviously, the base has to be placed in deep enough water. But, beyond that, there must also be ground terrain either poking through the bottom of the pool or located just below. If the terrain is below the bottom, then it may or may not be necessary to temporarily remove the bottom of the pool, place the generator, and then put the bottom back. (Though, removing the bottom will lose O2 on an airless world.)
