Colony Ship: Hestia

The Hestia is a colony ship that can serve as a complete base of operations out-of-the-box. It was produced to accomodate fresh settlers and nomads alike, in any environment.

With full tanks of hydrogen, the Hestia can travel from ground-to-orbit with over double its own mass in cargo. Primary thrust is sufficient to escape a gravity well and automated systems can manage flight. This allows users to go about their business on the ship as it makes the journey into orbit.

Dimensions: 97.5 x 107.5 x 47.5 meters (39 x 43 x 19 large blocks) + extremities
Environments: Space, Atmosphere, Lunar, Ground-Orbit


Survival ready (full conveyor and air system; minimal supplies if pasted in).

Two orientations for flight exist, allowing space to use primary thrust while thrust is focuses downward in atmo. Be mindful of which you use -- for both control stations and remote control.

Be sure to touch down gently, and lock landing gears for extended stays.

Parachutes are meant for emergencies and to help slow down an exceedingly large load upon reentry. Make sure they are properly set to suit needs.

Recommended cargo limit is based on realistic game settings. Adjust it as appropriate.

Atmo Exit setup is meant to be used from low-altitude. Manual timers are available for less ideal conditions.
Atmo Exit also accounts for a full 6Gg cargo capacity. Settings should be adjusted for fuel conservation during lighter loads, if desired.

(November 5, 2017) During tests, there was a point the reactors read as overdrawn, and thrusters were pulling (maybe) ten times as much power. I think this was purely a display glitch, and didn't seem to affect usability.

(November 5, 2017) During tests, hydrogen tanks were refilling from an unknown source while under auto-pilot.
