Concrete Water Tower

Description
A water tower with stats at roughly double those of the the default tower - at a cost of double the default tower.

Update 12/26/2017:
For those of you who want this tower, but do not like the 'WATER' sign on the side of it, I've put up a copy for local storage with that geometry removed. It's about 2.8mb, fewer tris, obviously - but the textures are unchanged. Here[drive.google.com] it is.

I do not plan to upload it to the Workshop.

To use: (for Windows) place the .crp file in your \local\appdata\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines\addons\assets\ folder and enable it in your content manager as usual.

For Mac, the path is [your user username]/library/application support/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines/addons/assets. If you don't know how to get there, click the Go menu in Finder and hold down the option/alt key - you'll see the library folder pop into the menu.

So, with that said:

I was playing this game the other night and lamented at the lack of vanilla tower diversity. I really didn't want to download another castle-sized tower or futuristic whirlamagig for my water. I just wanted something a bit more practical.

I wrote 'WATER' on the side of it, just in case your Cims think it's filled with broken dreams. :D

Asset stats:
Main Mesh: 2,286 tris
LOD: 70 tris

Textures 1024 and 128, all maps present - there's no AD illumination, but it's there all the same as a flat map. There are zero props on this asset - I was working through why the pipe nodes weren't appearing after creating it and I hadn't eliminated props as a cause yet (even though that makes no sense, I avoided it). So if you want to add some in your playthrough, It looks good at night with a few lights shining up at it.

In-game stats
Cost: 7,500
Upkeep: 480/week
Output: 120,000 (which, I think, is the same as the pump)
The electricity requirement is slightly increased from the default tower, though the exact value escapes me at the moment.

No external Workshop dependencies or DLC required. I'll never ask you download something that I haven't done. Except that one shed, and I've taken a look at that ... and spoken with the author ... And it's fine.

And,
Since I had such a hard time making a water tower from the default in-game template - and I'm still not convinced it's done properly, please let me know if it's messed up in any way. Like, if you can't connect pipes to this asset, let me know. And, If a modder happens to chance by here and knows this deep secret (why the pipe nodes are such a bit problem), please share it with me. I've tested this asset as much as I think I should and it works.

As usual, here are all the source files[drive.google.com]. This asset is not based on any IRL structure. It's just a cool new water tower I wanted.

Enjoy everyone!
I'm actually quite happy with how this looks in-game. It's never perfect - but I think this is a step forward for me.

Yeah, I guess the version on the drive wouldn't have any props for it. And I think all I used for the workshop item here were the stock vanilla light assets. This guy's workshop page has a bunch of light packs which might be suitable.

does it not have it's own lights built-in? gotta add them with props? what do you recommend using anyway

i downloaded the google drive file you listed in the description since it has no logo and i really like it, but i need some good lights for it

@Jeshua2BitzNakhe - I actually did do that, and you can download it - but I didn't want to create a new Steam page for essentially the same thing. There is a link in the description up above with the asset file without the marking. Feel free to use it locally or upload it to the Workshop.

Put the .crp file in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME HERE\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons\Assets and it should show up in the content manager.

"I wrote 'WATER' on the side of it, just in case your Cims think it's filled with broken dreams."

I literally had a mouthful of milk when I read this in your description! Thankfully I am a quick thinker and spun my chair to the left, as the milk exited via my nose. My dogs were happy enough to sort out most of the mess on the floor though. lmfao

Oh yeah, cool asset, not keen on the big water sign, but hey, that is what asset editor is for right?
