Fast Tram Track

Description
A fast tram track with a speed of 80 (Note that this tram road cannot be used to hold stops and the noise radius has been slightly increased). Pedestrians also cannot use this road. These changes were made in an effort to increase realism and balance.

Thank you for this mod. At the default speed the Trams are uncompetitive outside the city grid. With this modification their potential is extended and becomes an alternative to cross the wilderness.

The lamp poles and unused sidewalks are quite silly but this is the lightest-weight and most reliable modification possible so I guess we deal with it. As players we can maybe drag power lines next to it to make it visually noisy; or a functional cycling or mixed pedestrian path and justify the lamp poles on tram tracks as a way of helping people see an incoming Tram at night or a tram driver see any track invasions, even though the well-behaved people will avoid stepping on the not-a-sidewalk most of the time anyway. Nice.

Thanks for this asset. Its a great solution for users like me who only wanted a traffic management mod to raise some speed limits in the tram network and don't desire the poor framerates and periodic traffic nightmares cause by that mod. Uprated :)

The track is found under the tram tab under the transportation menu. For me it appears at the far right of the list.

I'm not finding this tram track in-game, even though the asset is enabled. Any ideas?

You could use a mod to change the speed. However, as this road was built using the in-game tools, it is very unlikely to break when a new update comes.

Making it possible for trams to go faster is a very good idea.
Alternatively to this mod, you can also use Traffic Manager President Edition and manually set the speed limit of each road section, instead of having a new road just for a different speed limit.
