Description
Behold, Neverwinter... the Jewel of the North. The City of Skilled Hands. The metropolis sitting along the fabled Sword Coast, south of the Spine of the World of Faerûn. Leading Neverwinter would be Lord Protector Dagult Neverember, Ex-Lord of Waterdeep and self-assumed descendant of Neverwintan Rule.

As a Civilization, Neverwinter is a wise and calculated people. The Neverwintans aspire to make Neverwinter sound with great infrastructure, and to reach great understands of the magical world around them through astute research and magical craft. Dagult seeks to surpass all others through the growth of his nation, to gain a lead over the rest through thorough research while being a solid bastion against outside forces. His Ranged Elite defend the keep, his sorcerers strike fear into those marching upon his city, and his magically attuned scholars continue their much needed research, and take advantage of the great Mountains that tower north of the city.

This defines Neverwinter as a Civilization striving for that Science Victory, with bonuses from his Unique Building and Unique Ability aiding in that endeavor, while his Unique Units help defend his lands from aggressors seeking to put a stop to his technological advances. With desires to be a Tall Empire, use nearby mountains to help sustain new settlements while also padding your rate of research.

==========

Unique Ability
Dagult's unique ability is Arcane on High. This ability increases his rate of generating Great Scientists by 100%, while also making Mountains workable tiles that provide +2 Food and +2 Science.

This ability gives Dagult the edge when advancing, allowing more Great Scientists for academies or tech boosts, while making settling near mountains much more desirable. No longer are mountains good for Observatories, but to Dagult, they are sources of Food and Research that will further along his civilization.

Unique Units
Neverwinter has two Unique Units it can take advantage of.

>>The first Unique Unit of Neverwinter is the Ranged Elite. The Ranged Elite is a Medieval-Era ranged unit that replaces the Crossbowman. It is weaker than its counterpart, but it offsets this weakness by being able to attack twice per turn, as well as gaining a combat bonus whenever it is close to the Capital.

Use the Ranged Elite as a line of defense to discourage aggressors from declaring war upon your Civilization, as a doubled barrage of bolts will do well to punish any attackers. At a cost of 120 Production, the Ranged Elite has a ranged combat of 14, and a standard combat of 10.

>>The second Unique Unit of Neverwinter is the Sorcerer. The Sorcerer is a special Renaissance-Era ranged unit that cannot gain additional experience, but can command the tide of battle with its unique abilities. It ignores zone of control, being able to move freely throughout the battlefield, while empowering nearby units and weakening nearby enemies. This makes it a threatening force to reckon with.

If during times of peace, however, the Sorcerer can be expended to create an Academy, granting Neverwinter better access to Research yields.

The Sorcerer is a powerful tool in defending your Civilization, due to its high ranged combat of 30, matching that of a Gatling Gun. It is more expensive than other Renaissance units however, at a cost of 175 Production to make. It should be important to decide upon the uses of a Sorcerer. Use it to defend, or to create an Academy to further boost your Research-per-turn.

Unique Building
The Unique Building of Neverwinter is the Mages Guild. The Mages Guild is an Ancient-Era structure that replaces the Library and immitates the Library, but also provides a flat Science Yield (+2), and a meager Culture yield (+1). The Mages Guild, when built, also grants nearby mountain tiles a yield of +2 Faith, furthering the importance of settling near or next to Mountain.

There isn't much to add on for the Mages Guild. Build it as soon as possible to get an edge in researching early techs, as well as influencing a possible early religion should one of your first few cities is settled near a mountain.

==========

This Mod also includes the Religion that is "Mystra", the Goddess of Magic. Should the Neverwinter AI ever acquire enough faith to start a religion, they will always select Mystra as their center of belief. Of course, any other civilization may select it for their own as well.

==========

Notes:
The assets for the Sorcerer was sourced from Fantasy Units v3.
Music was sourced from Neverwinter Nights I & II, as well as Hordes of the Underdark..
The Lua Script for the Trait was referenced from the Workable Mountains mod.

==========

!!! IMPORTANT !!!

It is highly, HIGHLY, recommended that you have all of the DLC, along with the required GNK & BNW expansions. As this mod was built with all of the Expansions and DLC in mind, if you do not have all of them, the mod may not work correctly!

Definitely shift some of the UA to his mountain buffs. In fact shift a large part of it, and then stick great scientist rate at 50%. That way he still has the science buff, but not babylon's free great scientist.

Exactly what I would expect if Lord Neverember were to be in Civ. Nice concept on the sorcerer btw

It was intended to be somewhat over the top, though I may be looking to shave some numbers off of the Ranged Elite, and move some of the science potential from the high Great Scientist rate to the Mountains part of the UA.

Depends on how many more try it out and return feedback.

was this meant to be brokenly OP? Babylon's UA except twice as good and workable mountains, and China's UU, plus two UUs and a UB.
