UPDATE: Campaign version is dead. RIP. :(

I'll try to see if I can find what broke it, but it's been nearly 2 years, so it could be literally anything in the base game...

Some notes about Campaign mods:

1. This mod is Campaign save game safe BUT if you start a game or continue a game with this mod enabled and either you or any other Dark Elf faction hire a Dreadlord (Great Weapon) then your Campaign save game will require this mod forever afterwards. It may be Campaign save game safe but if this unit exists in the game and you decide to remove my mod then your save game will stop working!

2. This mod may be compatible with (most) any other mod but that doesn't mean that it will work well with every mod. Mods that change skill points or mods with general overhauls to unit stats will not work well with this mod because this unit will be unbalanced (not having the appropriate number of skills points, being underpowered or overpowered due to unit stat reworks, etc.) If you use a skill point mod then please don't come to me saying that this unit isn't gaining 3x skill points -- the makers of that mod did not factor in my unit and they probably never will!

2.1. As a fun fact this unit is a TINY bit underpowered with Steel Faith Overhaul II but still manages to consistently best Dreadlord (Sword and Shield) in infantry combat (as it should). Should be good enough.

MOST RECENT CHANGE LOG:

1. Campaign version added

2. Minor text changes to character and mount descriptions

3. Fixed an icon bug

KNOWN BUGS:

1. On the turn that this unit is hired it will appear almost greyed out on the Campaign map. May actually be normal behaviour that I'm just noticing now...

2. This unit will not have a porthole portrait in the Campaign battle loading screen. It's possible that this exists somewhere in the database that I could update; if you know how then please let me know.

3. When hiring this unit they will have a default portrait in the hiring list. It's possible that this exists somewhere in the database that I could update; if you know how then please let me know.

Hey there, this is my first mod for a Total War game so it took me quite a long time to get made. Here's what it does:

- Now Campaign ready! Please report any bugs you find below
- Should be fully compatible with all other mods
- Should be fully save game safe for Campaign
- Adds a new Lord unit into the game for the Dark Elves - Dreadlord (Great Weapon)
The Dreadlord with Great Weapon costs a little more than your average Dreadlord with Sword and Shield but is an absolute terror to enemy infantry and unmounted lords. The Dreadlord comes with all the same expertise, abilities, and item choices as a Dreadlord with Sword and Shield, but instead of riding a Dark Pegasus the Dreadlord with Great Weapon can ride a Manticore instead, a fearsome flying beast said to be the embodiment of Khaine himself! The Dreadlord with Great Weapon also comes with a customized model and weapon to set her apart on the battlefield.

I tried to balance this unit as best I could but balance may still be a little off. Please let me know your thoughts.

I kinda liked your mod and since you asked for help I fixed it.
Problem lied with the uniforms.

I added a portrait_settings.bin too, because I play with 2D portholes and without it doesn't display it.
Tested it only a little. But I recruited a Lord, entered a battle and then withdrew once without mount and once with the mancticore mount equiped ,without problem.
Other than that I added manticore-anim to DE-faction and the manticore to the camp-mounts-table...think without it the manticore may have gotten bamboozled?

As far as I can remember I edited/added these tables:

campaign_character_arts_tables

units_custom_battle_permissions_tables
campaign_mounts_tables
culture_to_battle_animation_tables_tables

Uploaded the fixed version, if you want you can upload it to steam and then I can take it down.

Hey! I just stumbled upon this mod and am sad to see it seems to be broken.

I love what you did to the model, with the skin and Armor l.

I've never modded TW and don't know about newer up to date guides.



But I have an idea.
Take a look at mixu's Lord mods. Download one, locate the files and compare his tables to yours and see what might be missing.

I will test it as it is now after work and see if it crashes for me too.

I tried going through and updating all of my tables to include the new columns added over the last few years, but it still crashes on recruit. I have no idea which table(s) I am missing that cause(s) the crash on recruit. Unfortunately I doubt that I'll be able to fix this issue. If anyone knows a recent guide for creating Lords which includes all the tables required for Campaign usage please let me know, or if anyone knowledgeable feels like taking a look, feel free.

Sorry guys. I can't fix missing data without knowing what I'm missing.

It looks like it does crash in Campaign now, though interestingly enough the Lord now shows her portrait image correctly in the recruitment window when it didn't when last I worked on the mod. Huh.

I'll update the description with it not working in Campaign and try a Hail Mary attempt at diagnosing the issue, but really I have no idea what they could have changed in the base game over 2 years that caused the break. Long period of time with me having no context.

It didn't conflict with old mods, but it's possible that it conflicts with new mods. All it takes to cause a crash is for another mod to use the same name for an ability, item, animation.. etc. If it's conflicting with a mod I definitely can't fix that; there's no way to know what is causing the issue. If it's broken in general after all the updates then it's possible it could be fixed, but unlikely that I could do it (I have no idea what the base game would have changed to break it). I'll see if I can at least test it in Campaign tonight with no other mods and see if that happens for me.

It's a really nice concept, but I don't know if it's conflicting with other mods, KMM says no, but it might be. When I recruit one as Malekith, the game crashes, haven't tried with the other DE factions but it seems the mod is broken as is. Do you think you could fix it eventually? I don't know if it'll crash when the other factions recruit one, but I guess I'll see eventually.

I didn't think this mod would still be needed or wanted.. I tried uploading it, but I really doubt the files will work given how old this mod is, and I know I can't fix it. I haven't been modding all this time since I couldn't get the Beastmaster to work. If it works after the update and people still get some joy out of it -- cheers. If not, I'm sorry.
