Since you might not like my mini UZI or P90, a MP7A1 could be a nice option.
It has the short barrel rifle power (when face-to-face), super lower recoil, high-capa, light weight, and good penetration just like a laser weapon.
It will lost velocity very fast at mid-long range, but would not be a big issue for a SMG.
