Description
OBO: Pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), it stands for "Overseer's Balance Overhaul for Weapons".

This is a script that overhauls the M60 special weapon, turning it into an M134 minigun. This is a specific version that fires 1000 rounds per minute, which is the slowest fire rate of a XM214 Microgun (chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO). So this weapon is close to a real-world minigun. It also has 200-round belts with 800 rounds of reserve ammo for a total of 1000 rounds.

Keep in mind though, that this is not a "god weapon" that'll make you invincible. I've tried to make it reasonably balanced. For example, piercing has been reduced to 1, which means only the first enemy shot will die, and no others. This is easily offset by the extreme fire rate though, so there's that.

NOTE: When running out of ammo in a magazine, the game is hard-coded to make you throw away your M60, and then delete it. Thus, if you let your ammo run out of ammo in one magazine, even if you have plenty of reserve ammo, the game will force-drop your weapon and delete it. To prevent this, you will need to reload before fully emptying a mag. Unfortunately I cannot fix this, so just be aware.

So first and foremost, you'll need to download GCFScape (it's basically WinRar for .vpk files, which you can download from https://gamebanana.com/tools/26 ). Then you need to subscribe to this mod, make sure it's downloaded by starting the game, then go find the mod in your addons folder, extract it, and make your own edits to the script text file.

Lastly, you'll need to turn your tweaked mod back into a .vpk file. You'll need to install the L4D2 Authoring Tools in the Tools tab of your Steam library. Don't worry, you won't need to actually use the Authoring Tools, but once it's finished installing, you must find a file called "vpk.exe" in your game files located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\bin\. Now drag your modified "root" folder onto the vpk.exe and it will automatically put a "root.vpk" file next to the "root" folder. Move that modified "root.vpk" into your Left 4 Dead 2 addons folder and restart the game, and it should work.

You'll need to find another mod for that. This is just a script mod that changes the stats of the M60.

honestly the only thing that kinda of annoys me is the recoil in it, but..besides that is a pretty goood mod, the ammo kinda of compesates for the damage

After using this, I'm gonna be honest. Maybe turn the penetration up a little so it can kill things through doors and such, and just give it a 500 round magazine with no reserve. The damage is already low enough because it takes like 4-5 seconds on continuous shooting to kill witches on normal and tanks take up over 100 rounds to kill. This weapon would be like a Chainsaw except with bullets instead of melee, which I think is a good concept. Which pairs well with your melee script. You extended the fuel for the chainsaw, which is understandable as beforehand it was rather useless as a melee. This however, is a gun. So since it fires bullets and can kill from a distance with similar DPS, its drawbacks are low damage and inaccuracy. Along with having less ammunition or "use time."

In order for a script mod to work, the person hosting the session needs to have the mod active. So either do singleplayer, or create an empty lobby.
