Overwatch Disrespects Concealment Wotc

Description
Vanilla (non-WotC) version: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=643306945

A.K.A. the Anti-Jake Solomon Maneuver

Removes the condition against firing from concealment for all reaction fire abilities in the game.

This mechanic was very annoying to me, so I changed it.

Compatibility:
There shouldn't be any conflicts with other mods. I'm not directly modifying the default templates or anything, just ducking in and editing them after they've been created.

For a slightly different take on Overwatch rules that still allows reaction fire abilities to fire from concealment but also applies the standard reaction fire aim penalty, check out Overwatch Ignores Concealment Wotc instead:

Both this mod, and Ignore Concealment are not working for me. I only have one enabled at a time, so that isn't the issue. Unless I actually do need to have them both enabled? Are there any mods that could conflict with this mods' functionality? The big ones I run with are Covert Infiltration, and RPGO, but I don't see how those could conflict at all. This problem is noticeable as early as the very first mission. None of my rookies are taking shots in concealment when they should

Yeah is there a way to exclude abilities?

Is there a way to exclude abilities?? I have a soldier getting ever vigiliant where they go straight into overwatch if they've double moved, and I can't seem to stop them! :(

I agree that altering this mod to make a 2nd "aggressive" overwatch button would be good. Thus you can set your soldiers with phantom to still fire when they aren't seen, but without losing the ability to conditionally fire once enemies are close enough to see you

So in vanilla if you're concealed and overwatched you wont shoot unless you get seen. This makes it so if the enemy moves, overwatch will trigger and you'll come out of concealment. It's good because the enemies only get reaction moves :)

Hey Divine Lucubration:
Looks like these Overwatch mods also use a X2AmbientNarrativeCriteria hook. I posted about reported issues with using those in your Sniper and Infantry mods' Discussion threads.

@Divine Lucubration: Even weirder: it's only happened on gatecrasher with rookies.

"Ok, you three on overwatch and you go shoot that trooper" *shot hits* *4 overwatch shots follow* "Hey, that math ain't right!"

@Kaerius - That's... interesting. Not saying it's impossible, but I can't see as how that could result from using this mod. I don't actually add a new kind of overwatch shot to the game; I just modify the existing one so that it may be taken regardless of concealment.
