Brawn: SPARK Classes WOTC

Summary
Adds two new custom SPARK classes to the game, the Iconoclast and Stanchion. Requires SPARK Custom Class Support WOTC and the Shen's Last Gift DLC. The SPARKs should be very powerful to promote use of SPARKs (which is currently not great), but not game breakingly so. NOTICE: I do not consider this mod fully complete, but it is fully playable. I will update it over time. Some abilities are not yet what I want them to be.

Purpose of the mod
This mod aims to make SPARK’s more viable than they currently are. They are very time consuming and expensive to build (2 Elerium Cores!?), but in comparison with regular soldiers they don’t seem to be more or even as powerful. Especially considering your Genius soldiers can easily acquire 3-4 additional abilities.

This mod gives all SPARK’s a utility slot, allowing them to use grenades, Mimic Beacons or whatever you fancy. They can also use PCS’s, allowing them more in depth customization like your regular troops.

ICONOCLAST

The Iconoclast is an assault and tank platform. It is very survivable and good at dealing damage up close.

Squaddie
Strike – Vanilla

Corporal
Countermeasures – After taking damage automatically deploy a shield that lasts 3 turns (max 3 activations per battle).

Adaptive – While concealed, detection radius is decreased by 66% and damage is increased by 2.

Sergeant
Brawn – Melee attacks with Strike have a 33% chance to stun the target and Strike cooldown is reduced to 1 turn.

Re-Initialize – Can only be used from stationary position. Repair 5HP, gain +1 Armor and +2 Mobility for the remainder of the mission. 1 Charge.

(^ This ability needs some work, it works but don't consider it finished ^)

Lieutenant
Nanobots – Automatically repair 2 HP per turn when damaged, up to a maximum of 8HP per battle.

Annihilator – Heavy weapons have increased area of effect, deal increased damage and no longer end your turn when used as first action.

Captain
Aegis Shield – Generate a protective shield for you and nearby allies that lasts 5 turns. 2-Charges

Bombard – Vanilla

Major
Deception – When revealed from concealment, automatically deploy a mimic nearby.

Nova – Vanilla

Colonel
Reflective – 33% chance to enter concealment at the start of each turn.

Overcharge - Gain an additional action point.

STANCHION

The Stanchion is an accurate support platform. It excels at target acquisition and supporting the squad.

Squaddie
Repair – Vanilla

Corporal
Intimidate – Vanilla

Vital Targeting – Fire a shot that deals critical damage if it hits. Can only be fired from stationary position.

Sergeant
Targeting Jammer – Project a distortion field that gives all allies in range +15 Defense.

(^ Misses any sort of visual feedback, but does work ^)

Channeling Field – Vanilla

Lieutenant
Hold The Line – Enter a guarding overwatch that never ends, allowing reaction fire on all enemies, provided there is enough ammo to do so.

Wick Protocol – Killing an enemy will reload your primary weapon automatically.

(!! NOTICE !! ^ This ability is currently broken due to WOTC. I will replace it later ^)

Captain
Reactive Calculation – Reaction shots suffer no aim penalty and can cause critical hits.

Disabler – Fire a shot at that deals reduced damage but is more likely to hit, drains 1 action point from the target and disables their weapon on impact.

Major
Sentinel - If a reaction shot hits succesfully, another shot will be taken.

Pierce – Consume a lot of ammunition to pierce through every enemy in a straight line.

Colonel
Sacrifice – Vanilla

Twitch - Fire the primary weapon. This ability does not cost an action and can be used every other turn.

IMPORTANT
Every SPARK you build defaults to base SPARK class. You need to enter the promotion screen where you will be prompted to assign it a new class, either the base game SPARK, Iconoclast, Stanchion or any other custom SPARK classes you have installed.

My Sparks still cant equip grenades - what variable is it / how do you allow them to use grenades in your mod so I can try and track down the conflict? Cheers
FYI - Im also using Mechatronic Warfare: Total SPARK Overhaul and Metal Over Flesh if that

Hi. Wouldn't an easy fix for the wick protocol be granting a free reload charge after getting a kill on an enemy? Just curious.

First, thanks for this mod. I do like the spark class system. I notice though that I can't promote these classes through the AWC. I use Mr. Nice mod and normal sparks work, so does the MEC mod work with AWC. I'm not sure why they are greyed out for promotion in the AWC

when i go to promote my Spark it goes to the screen where you choose spark, stanchion, iconoclast etc...but you cannot select them.

I use a control pad and it allows me to highlight the selections but not select them.

Also, twitch is a shot that consumes no ammo but still costs an action.

I know that you're unlikely to ever return to this mod, but if you do, adaptive's concealed damage doesn't work, and for some reason your class spark can't use spark's Arsenal for the heavy weapon.
