Description
Welcome to The Ancient Shores!

In an era long since forgotten, these shores belonged to a sprawling kingdom famed for its wealth and power.

But the king desired more. Ordering his men to dig deep into the mountains for riches, he awoke a power only remembered in whispers. Through greed and ambition, an ancient dragon was disturbed from its slumber. Amidst smoke and fire, the beast lay waste to the kingdom, leaving only ruins in its wake.

After 200 years of fire and ash, an order of knights from a distant kingdom took up the challenge to rid the lands of this blight. The battle was long and nearly lost, but against all odds they emerged victorious, though only a few remained.

Deeming the land cursed, none sought to reclaim it. Over time, the dragon's remains turned to stone, forming a mountain range known today as Dragon's Wrath.

But legend says that a dragon can't be truly slain. To keep watch, the knights build a castle and watchtowers atop the newly formed mountain range.
For a thousand years, they guarded the land, until eventually they, too, faded into the dark mists of history.

Will you walk the Pilgrim's Path across the peaks of Dragon's Wrath to the Watcher's Castle, the final resting place of the Forgotten Order?
Are you brave enough to spend the night on Coastfall Island, where the legends say the ghost of the old keeper of the lighthouse, the last member of the Order, still dwells to perform his duty?
Or will you follow in the King's footsteps, and dig into the wealth of the mountains?

Details:
- Temperate map.
- Theme: New Caledonia (Custom Pavement)
- Completely hand crafted, not based on a real world terrain.
- Rugged coastlines and open meadows.
- Varied landscape: Jagged cliffs, rough mountains, rugged coasts, meadows, plains, lakes and islands.
- Suitable for various play styles.
- several separated build locations, giving you the option to construct several towns or cities across the map.
- Available connections: Highway, Rail, Ship, Plane.
- Available resources: Ore, Fertile and Forestry.
- Highway, Rail and Ships available on starting tile. Water spawn is also located on starting tile and pushes outward for easy pump and draining.
- 100% vanilla; no mods, assets or DLC required. The Map Theme isn't required to play, but is recommended.

Designed for use with the 81 Tiles mod.
This map is playable with the vanilla 9 tiles or the 25 tiles mod, but it'll be a bit more challenging.

There is an 'old' road that winds along the coast. To keep vanilla compatibility, it's currently a long highway exit lane. I suggest upgrading it to a road of your choosing (perfect for coastal towns!), but it's outside the 25 tiles, so you'll need 81 Tiles or Cross The Line for that.

The starting tile intersection is All Through The Night by agusingnavy.
The other big one is CreativeDEX's Cloverstack A52/A6.
All Network Extensions roads have been changed to Vanilla roads, so you won't need Network Extensions.

LUT for screenshots is Cinematic HD, tweaked with Ultimate Eyecandy and Daylight Classic, and a tiny bit of Photoshop.

Don't like the vanilla trees? I hear you. I've used vanilla trees so people can easily replace the trees with any tree of their preference with Prop It Up.
If you want to play it in a different environment (For instance, winter), you can use the Environment Changer (+ Improved Theme Selection) mod.

Help, my tunnels outside unlocked tiles look weird!
That's perfectly normal. The game can't render tunnels outside unlocked tiles. They're fully functional, it just looks a bit silly. Once you unlock the tile, it'll turn into a regular tunnel

What's that bit with the two small highway exits?
The last rest stop before the tunnel. :)

If you run into any problems or have any questions, please let me know!

And of course all comments, likes and favs are much appreciated! I'd love to see the city you build on it! :)

Wow, thanks! I do want to build on your map, it looks like it might be fun! And I also didn't know about the Prop&tree configuration! So much to learn with all the different mods, and all at once seems like. The mods/assets/props all make the building more interesting, as well as more personal. It's nice to have choices! will load the map again- Appreciate the information! Again, thank you!

@Alleykat It's okay, we all started there :)

When you set Prop&Tree Anarchy to On, it turns off the collision for trees and props. The game normally doesn't delete trees (and rocks) when you build over them, it just hides them. They still count as existing trees, and still use system resources. The mod simply un-hides them.

This also means that when you build roads, houses, etc, the trees will stay in place and appear through the building.

Make sure the 'Unhide all trees on level loading' is unchecked in Prop & Tree Anarchy mod's options. If that's enabled, it shows all previously hidden trees.

The best option is to delete the trees manually before you build, but that of course doesn't solve the ones on the map growing through the roads. You can delete the trees by using right-click with the tree brush, or with Move It's Marquee Tool set to Trees. If they're outside the city limits you can use 81 tiles or Cross The Line. :)

Yes, I am rather new at this, and yes, I do have Prop & Tree Anarchy, and no, I am not familiar with all of the features yet, lol.. AND, for replying so promptly! It is very much appreciated! I will eventually figure out what I am doing wrong, ( I hope!) and will retry the map - which I think is very nice!

@Alleykat Only if you subscribe to Prop&Tree Anarchy without knowing what it does. That has nothing to do with this map.

@AquilaSol
Thank you so much! Everything is working fine now. Love the map... I'm gonna name a district afer you! lol

@Paper Wings The problem is TMPE not playing nice with the recent patch. Unsubscribe from it and it should work as normal again. (Disabling is not enough)

A second load is when you load something after already having loaded something else in that session. If you're using mods you should always exit the game completely between loading screens. Don't load something from inside a city/map/editor, and don't quit to the menu
