Description
Now updated for War of the Chosen!

Let's face it, labs are terrible. They cost a precious facility slot, lots of power, and oodles of cash in upkeep, in order to give you a small research boost that you probably can't even use. Breakthroughs are nice but if you feel like the lab still needs some help, try this out.

Material Rebates
Inspired by EU's workshop rebates. When a lab is installed, completing research will give you a rebate on the materials used.

The default rebate is 50% with one scientist, 75% with two.
So if Elerium research requires 40 elerium, you'll get around 20 or 30 elerium back when you finish it, assuming you have a properly staffed Lab.

Intel Bonuses
Like the rebates, this will give you a bit of extra Intel for decrypting ADVENT datapads. The bonus is approximately +50% for one scientist, +100% for two.

Upkeep Cost
Upkeep decreased somewhat, from 35/40 (Workshop cost) to 25/30 supplies. It still requires more power than a Workshop.

Compatibility
No class overrides, applies even to modded research projects. Compatible with existing saved games and can be removed at any time. Rebates even apply to research started before the mod was active.

This mod should be compatible with any mods that add more lab slots. By default, the additional slots do not increase rebates or intel bonuses, but this can be adjusted in the config file.

Thanks. I didn't get a notification for your comment and just saw it. Coincidentally, I just found out about Alpha's Workshop mod a few minutes ago and downloaded it.

Hi ! I'm working on an upcoming mod to replace the Laboratory with a new facility and was looking for compatibility with this mod. For that to happen I'd need you to expose the facility name to config and was wondering if this is possible at all?

@ ZJwh5S A bit of a late reply but for anyone who is curious, there is actually a mod for the workshop: Alpha's Workshop Overhaul https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2450706289 , and both of them work well with Facilities+ https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1933622888 . FWIW all three of these mods work with Psionic Ex Machina as well https://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2222545926 .

1 - IIRC, the only changes are those in the Description. There's no change to research speed etc.

I don't know if the modder is still active, so if ANYONE can answer me:

Do the labs still give the vanilla research speed and breakthrough research bonuses, or do those get overridden? I'm tweaking the mod values and with this information I'd tweak accordingly
