Introduction
This guide technically contains spoilers, so I would only recommend reading it if you have tried your luck against the final boss and hit a wall.

The final boss battle contains of three phases. Each phase will be fought on a different platform. These platforms are connected by bridges. These bridges will get shattered by the final boss. Once you defeat the enemies on your current platform, simply walking towards the shattered bridge will cause it to reassemble itself, allowing you advance closer to the final boss.
Phase 1
The first phase is straight forward. Move towards the final boss and kill the minions you encounter along the way using already familiar techniques.
Phase 2
The second phase will require you to fight shadow versions of the first three bosses. This phase will evolve from fighting one shadow boss at a time to fighting two of them at a time (in various combinations). Be mindful of your surroundings, use the same strategies you used to defeat these bosses in the first place and you should be fine.
Phase 3
The third and final phase is where I got stuck for a while (hence this guide). The final boss is located in the middle of the platform and you are surrounded by minions. You cannot damage the final boss and minions on this platform spawn in endless waves. Let the minions defeat you in order to proceed.

So are there multiple endings? I just finished, made it to final platform, died to an enemy and then got achievement "encounter Hela" and then a cut scene played and the credits rolled...

I was really about to play. Its my first play through. But I'm really sleepy. So, Senua hears voices. And, the crazy thing is, it is so accurate to my personal experience with schizophrenia. Nobody needed to know that. But, I just wanted to say stuff

I just finished the game for the first time and I could've sworn what ended phase 3 was not losing, but damaging the Berserker (the huge guy with the greataxe and bullrush move).

I killed A LOT of other enemies and the voices saying "you're killing yourself!" seemed to be timed with damaging him, and the last thing I did before the end cinematic played was land 2 or 3 uninterrupted heavy attacks on his back.

Hard as hell but managed it for almost 2 hours worth figuring it through till I realized to just slowly fight till two or more surround me to end. The thing in the middle is her {Senua} the new being of her new begining to the end = {Hellblade 2} And thanks. Loved the epic fight though and good at it too! :crossout_destroy:

Usually..... This is about her sacrifice in the final. Either keep the hellish fight going endlessly or die to end her suffering for her lover and move on to her second continuing story when it be done and released. Though it is soo epicly great fight in near end, music soo great as epic, the feeling of being sucked into this with her in the long epic fight endlessly!! :Swordy:

Yeah, me, too. I was getting really frustrated. Until, finally, the voices started saying I've done enough fighting. They had to say it again for me to comply, though. Because, as usual, they were saying all sorts of other things along the way :)
